"what a joke." renjun scoffed and turned his phone off, clearly annoyed and mood ruined because of a video he stumbled upon on.

the boy bougt a phone a few days ago because it was an essential thing, and he happens to come across the "trending" page of youtube and saw dr. go's latest interview regarding them escaping.

jaemin saw renjun all worked up and handed him a piece of lollipop he got from the store just a few minutes ago. "what's wrong?" he asked and sat beside the smaller, chewing the mint flavored gum in his mouth and blowing little bubbles.

"its the stupid dr.go again," renjun paused and rolled his eyes. "i watched his recent interview and he had the guts to call us 'horrible people' when he literally brainwashed the society into thinking we were bad just so he could have us and our powers all for himself! a piece of shit i say..."

while the duo were chatting with each other, mark and jeno were discussing something serious in the corner and donghyuck had enough of it. yeah it was probably very important that they have been talking for almost 2 hours now but come on, they needed to let loose a little!

donghyuck skipped all the way to them and ruffled both their hairs, making the two older boys look at him with eyebrows raised.

"yes hyuck?" jeno asked.

"you guys are too scary and serious! join me to the mall please~" he said and whined, making mark smile at the cute gesture and stand up from his position. "i'll go with you sunshine." and immediately the sunkissed male grinned from ear to ear and clinged onto mark's side.

mark turned to jeno and sent him a knowing look. "we'll continue later, jen." and the latter just nods before walking away, probably going to grab snacks or bother jaemin and renjun.

the two males walked around the public place, hand in hand as donghyuck sways it back and forth. it was no doubt these two had something going on, the younger had a tiny crush on mark- maybe a big one- but he didn't want to admit it to the older yet.

it had been like that since they were children of course, being completely oblivious for each other and it continued for years.

they liked how they are right now, but its obvious that they needed to deal with their freedom first. it was important not only for them but for the guys, and the whole world as well.

"tired, sunshine?" mark looked at the younger beside him who was yawning, clearly exhausted from their mini shopping spree. donghyuck nodded a little and rested his head against mark's shoulder as they walk along the street.

donghyuck couldn't teleport as he was too tired- so they decided to walk instead. it was calming anyways. it was still around 2pm in the afternoon and people were still walking around minding their own business. the two wore caps and masks to hide themselves, trying not to attract unwanted attention to them that could lead to something dangerous.

mark was humming a random song that popped up in his head as they walk infront of a highschool. just as they were about to cross the street, the boys suddenly heard 4 loud gunshots echo all the way from the building that made donghyuck flinch and snap to his senses.

the older tensed up and could also feel donghyuck's strong emotion of fear and worry.

"school shooting."
