LOUIS POV:
"C'mon Louis lighten up." Millie said, nudging my shoulder with hers. I stayed silent, shrugging, and walking along with the rest of the group. I didn't have the best morning and it put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day.
We sat down at a table after grabbing food, and before I sat down (y/n) came up to me.
"Hey (y/n)," I said.
"Hi, could I borrow your jacket? I'm cold." She asked. I shrugged, thinking nothing of it.
"Sure go ahead," I said, pulling off the sweatshirt and handing it to her. She smiled and thanked me before going to sit down at the table. I sat across from her.
She was like a child, one of the things I liked so much about her. Because we were kids, so why couldn't we act childish? She took two french fries from her plate and stuck them in the top of her mouth like a walrus. I laughed at how cute she looked. And when she looked at me she laughed too, grabbing the french fries out of her mouth and eating them before they fell out.
"Looks like (y/n) brought you out of your mood," Millie said quietly next to me. I cleared my throat and stopped laughing.
"What?" I asked him.
"You were in a bad mood, Louis. She made you laugh. You like her." He said matter-of-factly.
"Shut up," I said, frowning. I didn't want to admit I liked her. Because she was so out of my league. Noah asked her out last week and she said no. If he couldn't get her how could I? I knew I didn't have a chance so why try? But it was hard to forget about her while she's wearing my sweatshirt. She looked so innocent and adorable. Her legs pulled up to her chest and her head resting on her knees, sleeves too big on her, just listening to everyone talk with a smile on her face and ice cream cone in hand. Then she locked eyes with me, and lifted an eyebrow up, silently asking 'are you okay?' and that killed me. Because we're just friends. And nothing more. I sighed and got up from the table, trying to play it off like I didn't see her. But it didn't work, instead, she's walking towards me.
"What's up Louis, what's gotcha down?" She said, bumping my hip. I half smiled and shook my head.
"Ah, nothing don't worry about it," I replied, avoiding her question. She pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes, waving around her ice cream cone like she was contemplating something. Then before I could react she tapped her ice cream cone on my nose. Her eyes widened and she started laughing as my jaw dropped open.
"You did not just do that." I smiled. She doubled over, holding her stomach as she laughed. Seeing her like that I laughed along with her. I wiped my nose off with my finger and wiped it on a napkin. She came back up to face me and shrugged.
"I'm sorry," She smiled. "I just couldn't not do it." She said.
"Alright alright, I understand. Here I'll go buy you another ice cream since this one is obviously ruined now." I said, holding out my hand. She nodded and gave me her ice cream, a big mistake. I took it and immediately tapped her nose with the cold ice cream.
"Hey!" She laughing. "I guess I deserved that." She smiled. She shivered a little from the cold ice cream and her nose scrunched up, looking at me.
"You look cute like that." I smiled, admiring how adorable she looked with her nose scrunched up, the ice cream starting to drip down the tip of her nose. She grabbed a napkin to wipe it off and smiled.
"Do I?" She asked, looking up at me through her lashes. I felt my cheeks warm and I reached my hand up to scratch the back of my neck. I didn't mean to say that I just couldn't help it.
"I uh, well yea," I said nervously. She looked down and smiled again, starting to turn herself in half circles.
"I think you look cute all the time." She said quietly.
"Really?" I smiled. She nodded her head.
"I, uh, well, yea." She said, mocking me. I laughed and rolled my eyes. Then I put my hands in my pocket and rocked back and forth on my feet.
"Good to know," I said.
"Louis." She said.
"Yea?"
"When are you going to ask me out?" She said, catching me by surprise.
"I didn't know... I honestly didn't think you wanted me to." I said truthfully.
"Mm, I've made it very clear that I like you." She said. I raised my eyebrows.
"Really? I never noticed it." I told her. Now she rolled her eyes.
"You're such a typical boy." She laughed.
"What!" I exclaimed.
"I've made it so obvious! Noah asked me out and I said no, I go out of my way to say hi to you, I steal your jackets all the time, actually wearing one right now, and I flirt all the time with you. Hence the ice cream on your nose." She said. I smiled.
"Alright, then I guess you have made it pretty obvious," I said. She nodded her head. "Well then (y/n), would you like to go out with me sometime?" I asked.
"Finally!" She said. I chuckled.
"So is that a yes?" I asked. She shoved my arm.
"Of course that's a yes dummy."
