Five
My parents let me attend Wolfgang Allen's (possibly wild) teenage party with the three following conditions:
(1) Curfew was at eleven (but I highly doubt Chelsea and I would really take that long. I mean, we're just probably going to be there for an hour to check things out and continue our slumber party at my house).
(2) If we ever got drunk, don't drink and drive; immediately call dad to pick us up (which I highly doubt, too, because Chelsea and I couldn't even tolerate the taste of alcohol. Eck.)
And (3) go live up and have fun (this would be easy).
To be honest, I was a bit shocked because I'd thought that they wouldn't let me go. And then they'd told me that they were finally relieved because they were worried that I was missing out a lot of high school experiences (i.e going to high school parties) because all I do every weekend was to have a slumber party with Chelsea and my sisters.
Wow that was such a big eye-opener on how much of a loser I am.
Thanks mom and dad.
Anyway, after my sisters – Amy and Darcy – and I cleared off the table and put all the dirty dishes inside the dishwasher, I called Chelsea.
"Guess what?" I was now inside my room, flopping on my bed.
"You fell inside the dryer again while doing laundry?" my best friend quipped.
"What? No – that was last week." I paused and let out a huge breath as I continued. "I'm going to Wolf's party!"
"Oh. My. God. Really?" she screeched from the other side that I had to pull my phone away from my ear to protect my eardrum from shattering. "I am totally going now!"
"Duh," I said, rolling my eyes but I was smiling.
Chelsea's mom would only let her only daughter attend as long as we were going together.
"Alright, I'm going to tell mom," she said excitedly. I could hear her standing from her spiny chair and going out of her room.
I laughed. "Talk to you later alligator."
"For a while, crocodile."
The next morning, I saw Timothy Burr on the hallway across from me walking with his two friends from the swimming team as I was en route to my Calculus class. So I did my usual greeting as I passed him.
"Hi Tim," I said, smiling. I looked super cute today. I'm wearing a pink blouse; over it was my favorite elephant necklace, high-waisted ripped-jeans and my brown suede sandals from Brandy Melville.
"Hey Emi." He nodded his head at me and gave me that billion-watt smile that I'd almost melted right there in the hallway.
I was in a giddy mood when I walked in to class that Eddie shot me a look as I sat next to him.
"What's wrong with you?" he asked curtly. He was looking at me liked I'd lost my mind which I probably am because I couldn't stop myself from smiling.
"Nothing," I replied, and then I let out a small giggle as the visual of Tim smiling and saying my name replayed inside my head.
He sighed and shook his head. "You're weird."
"Don't forget to go my party later guys, okay?" Wolfgang Allen said as he'd passed Eddie and I as we were walking to our next class. He was handing out his party fliers to every senior he passed in the hallway.
"Are you going to Wolf's party later?" I asked Eddie, folding the flier and put it inside my bag.
"No.""Why not?"
"I have a lot of stuffs to do," he replied simply and shrugged.
"Well I'm going," I said. "I think it's going to be fun."The rest of the day passed in blur, and it was Friday so I had no work in my dad's diner so I was just chillin' inside my room listening to the new Taylor Swift album while waiting for Chelsea to be drop off by her dad.
By the time Chelsea had arrived, she immediately went inside my room. We were having a slumber party tonight after we came back from Wolf's party later.
"What do think I should wear?" I asked her. I was now inside my walk-in closet, staring at the clothes hanging on the rack.
"Nothing can go wrong with a skirt, girl," my best friend replied from the open door.
I picked out the black sequined skirt that I got from H&M a year ago and a navy blue crop top from Forever 21. "What do you think of this?" I asked as I went out of my closet. Chelsea was sprawled on my bed with her Macbook on eating pizza.
"That's perfect!" she said as she saw the outfit. She was already dress before she went here. She was wearing a purple tank top, black skirt that flares at the bottom, black tights, and her favorite black sneakers.
I quickly dressed up and put on some make-up as Chelsea helped me curled my hair so they were nice and bouncy.
Before we'd left, my mom insisted first on a quick photo shoot after she had her last reminders about being a responsible teenager.
Then off we go.
