Tuesday - Ariana's POV

I woke up around noon after my mom told me to go back to sleep. Another day of school missed and my wrist wasn't even that hurt. She was overreacting for sure, but if it made her feel better about it, I guess there was no point in arguing.

I looked at my phone and saw that I had a message from Kaoru.

Kaoru: Good morning ^^ Hoshi told me you weren't coming to school today, I hope you can come back soon <3

Hoshi told him? Really? I guess maybe she has changed for the better... or maybe not. But then again.. Kaoru would tell me if she had flirted with him... right?

I shook my head, of course he would. Kaoru is one of the most loyal people I know, I trust him with my life. He's the only person who has yet to break that trust. Well... I guess Hikaru and the rest of the host club as well...

The point is I trust Kaoru. I trust him with everything.

I pulled on a sweater, put my phone in my pocket and headed downstairs. If I was supposed to spend today as a sick day, I may as well relax.

I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. None of the maids were in there so I just decided to make my own food.

I pulled out some of the bread that was baked yesterday and toasted it. I sat on the counter and waited for my toast to pop from the toaster.

I wonder what we're doing in class. Am I missing anything important? A project? A test? Or maybe it's just a reading and a few assignments. I could ask Kaoru to bring me the assignments I missed. I'm sure he wouldn't mind and we could spend some time together in the gardens.

I should text him, it was around lunch time, and if he didn't respond now, he would see it after school.

Pop!

I jumped from the sudden sound. My toast was ready. I grabbed a plate and brought my toast to a different counter where I went to the fri-

"Smith-san!", I looked to my left and saw the source of the voice, it was one of our maids, "You should have come to find one of us!" She walked over to me and gently pushed me out of the way so that she could grab the cream cheese and jam from the fridge, "Your mother gave us very specific instructions to make sure that you don't lift a finger today." The maid started to prepare my food.

"I really don't mind... I should have gone to school today, my wri-"

"You mother knows best Smith-san." The maid smiled and held my plate out to me.

"I suppose..." I took the plate and walked off to the dining room to eat.

The empty room was quiet and full of light. I looked up, the sun roof was a waste in my opinion... it made everything way too bright and it highlighted how lonely someone was in this big house.

I sat at the table and stared at my food. I had this odd feeling... like a gut feeling... that today wasn't going to be my day... that something drastically horrible was gonna happen today. Maybe I shouldn-

My phone started to ring. I pulled it out of my pocket and looked at the caller id. It was my mom.

I answered, "Hello?"

"Ariana!" my mom greeted me.

"Is everything okay?"

"Of course! I just wanted to let you know that the Titacho's are gonna be coming over this evening."

"What?!"

"Ventura-kun and his parents are coming for dinner, they'll be at our house a little after school. I want you to get the maids to help you get ready. Get into something nice, do your hair and make up. Everything, okay?"
