"It's not all that hard. You've almost got it, Kami, don't give up now!"
"But I don't understand! I've been trying and it still hasn't been working!"
I sighed. Teaching magic is much harder than learning it. I always remembered how I was taught the different stances required, how to feel the flow, to use your energy, and not think logically. Thinking logically ment failure. "You stand like this: feet planted in the ground." I planted my feet to the ground, and looked to Kami. "Come on."
Kami sighed and followed my lead. "Alright."
"Now, I don't want you to think about anything but breathing. Can you do that? Just focus on breathing."
Kami closed his eyes, and breathed steadily. I watched him closely. I knew that he had never used his magic skills before, hell, he hadn't even known that he had magic before I told him so, but it should just come naturally to him. He must be thinking about it too much. I thought.
"Now, raise your hands in front of you, palms facing forward." I did so, and Kami opened his eyes to follow my instructions. "Don't think about anything but the Earth. Feel it flow with you, Kami."
Kami took deep breaths again. "Just the Earth."
I smiled. "Yes. You are one with the Earth, Kami. It protects you, gives you a home, feeds you. In return, you must take care of it. It will follow your instructions. You are in control, Kami."
Kami nodded. "I'm in control."
"Uh huh. Now, think about the Earth as though it's a whip. Look at me now, Kami." I took a deep breath before quickly spreading my hands so that they were straight out at my sides now, before bringing them back to my front and curling my hands into fists. I raised my hands high, and slammed them back down. As I did so, the Earth in front of me moved like a whip: two strips of the ground lifted up with the movement of my hands and slammed back down. "It's called the Earth Dragons tail whip," I explained. "Now, you try!"
Kami nodded, looking ahead again. "I'm in control." I heard him whisper, before he copied my movements. It wasn't extremely powerful, but two strips of the ground did lift up and move in a whip-like motion. Kami's eyes brightened. "I-I did it!" He cheered, pumping his fist into the air. "Yeah! I did magic!"
I smiled at Kami. "Yeah! It was awesome Kami!" I ruffled his hair, making him chuckle.
"Will I be able to do more?" He asked.
"Maybe later," I told him. "I can tell you're tired. Your magic energy is still only a portion of what it will become. We can do some more later, okay?"
Kami looked a little sad, but nodded. "Okay!"

"What other things can we do?"
"Well, other than use our element for fighting or whatever, Demi-Dragons have incredible sight, smell, and hearing. We have to eat a lot in order to stay healthy, but we can also last days without food if needed." I was carrying Kami on my back, since he got tired from all of the magic energy he used. "We also have the ability to magically grow wings, a tail, and scales."
"What do yours look like?" Kami asked me.
"I'll show you later," I told him. "We're here!"
I walked towards the entrance of the town. Thankfully no guards were there, otherwise I'm sure that we would have been kicked out. There was a large sign that read, WELCOME TO GRINTERBERG. It was a weird name in my opinion, but I didn't question it. I carried Kami inside to find that the streets were full of people and really busy and people were trying to sell things. I looked around in amazement.
