I arrived at the human village about a half an hour later. I was tired by then, but was quite glad that I had reached it. I could see a lot of people down there, walking around, and some noise that must have been talking. I flapped my wings and flew down, landing right next to a large fountain. People all around looked at me, many people gasping.

"So this is a human village..." I spoke under my breath. I looked at all of the people, before dispersing both my wings and tail. I took a step towards the people. "Please, help me! I am looking for a man."

None of the people moved or responded. I continued to look at them, hoping for someone to answer me. "Please?" I asked.

Then, the people moved. Most of them ran as soon as they could, and others tried to calmly walk away but failed at it. I only looked to the people, hoping that someone would help, but no one did step forward.

I sighed in annoyance. Not a good first impression on humans.

No one agreed to help me. In fact, no one spoke to me at all. I didn't know what it was that made them turn away. I looked just as much of a human as they did, right? Or at least, I thought so.

I sat back against a wall, in a little alleyway. "Why won't someone just help me?"

There was no answer, but then again, I didn't expect one.

I took out one of the pieces of bread that Nefta Batibat had given me, and took a bite. I had never eaten bread before, but I thought it to actually be not so bad. I would have liked some meat much more, but I would have to make due with what I had at the moment. I looked to the side, down the alleyway, to see two pairs of eyes suddenly looking to me.

I swallowed, looking at the curiously. "Hello?"

There was silence, before a small, "H-hello."

A little boy came out of the shadows. He was only wearing some ripped pants and a shirt, with no shoes. He had brown hair and dark green eyes, a thin face with freckles dotted all over his cheeks, and pointed ears. He looked really hungry and sick. I smiled to him, and held out the bread. "Here."

He only gave me a weary look.

"It's alright, it's not poisoned or anything," I told him. "Besides, you look like you need it much more than I do."

He slowly walked over to me, sat down, and took the bread. I smiled, looking down at him as he slowly lifted it up to his nose and took a sniff. Next thing that I knew, he snarffed it down, and the bread was no more.

I looked away from him and up at the moon for a moment. "My name is Kida, by the way. Kida Draconic."

"I-I'm Kami." He told me.

I looked back down at him, finally getting a better look at his eyes. They were a beautiful forest green, though is pupils were slits. It reminded me much of a dragon, and curiosity got the best of me. "You're a demi-dragon, aren't you?"

Kami looked away. "Y-yes."

"Don't worry," I told him. "So am I."

"I know that," He said. "You have scales around your eyes."

"I-I do?" I asked.

He nodded. "They're green, red, white, and blue all at the same time. It's really cool."

I blushed a tiny bit. "W-well, thanks."

Silence fell upon both of us for a while. "What are you doing here?" Kami asked.
