You never actually knew the reason that Luke didn't like you, but when he started to act like an ass to you, you acted like an ass right back. This lead to neither of you being able to be in the same room for 5 minutes before there was a fight.
Sadly, with you two being in the same friend group, it was inevitable that you would end up in a room next together. The biggest problem was that Luke had been your crush in fourth grade.
When you guys first met in 8th grade, you were fine, but Freshman year is when the fighting started. You had gone up to your friends to ask them a question and Luke happened to be there, you said hi and he just walked away.
Like 2 weeks ago, you and your friends had decided to go swimming at the local lake. One of the things that your friends had failed to mention to you is that they invited the boys.
It took all of 15 minutes before Luke had some smartass comment to you and the two of you started arguing. Remembering that you had come here with your friends, you walked away. You never actually liked fighting, it caused way too much attention and it put everyone down because they had to listen to it.
You knew that Reggie's parents fought and so did your friends Leah's. They always got sad and quite when you and Luke started to fight, so you stopped fighting around them. You did everything you could not to fight in front of your friends knowing that they are probably annoyed of it and you didn't want to lose them.
That was the last time you had talked to him, actually the last time you even looked at him. You think he had picked up on you wanting to stay away from him because he ignored you completely. Tonight was your friends annual beginning of year party, and sadly everyone would be there, including Luke.
When you had arrived to the party, Luke was no where to be seen. He had a knack for showing up late and making an entrance.
"Hey Y/N, you wanna play truth or dare with us?" Your friend Zoe spoke from the corner where the circle was forming. Shrugging, you make your way over to them, what's the worst that can happen? The game had spanned on for about half an hour when it was your turn again. "Y/N, truth or dare?"
"Dare" you say without thinking. Looking around, she spotted the perfect dare. You were known for never turning down a dare, so she knew that you had to go through with it.
"I dare you to go kiss Patterson in front of everyone." Once the words left her mouth a collective ooh had left the group. Contemplating it for a second, you get up and start walking over to Luke. As you got closer your heart started to beat faster.
"L/N, what do you-" He didn't get to finish his sentence before you grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him forward. The kiss was short and Luke didn't have time to respond before you pulled away walking back over to the group. You left behind a baffled Alex and Reggie and a heavily stunned Luke. The worst part about this whole experience, was that both of you had liked the kiss.
