FLASHBACK AND COMEBACKS

Aryan was getting worked up thinking about Raina and what she could be doing. He had finally found her but didnt know how the approach her. Aryan, through his connection,  had found out that Raina was in a library that day. He was determined to meet her, see her at the least. He was waiting outside the perimeter, it had been for four hours that he was patiently standing there when Raina from behind the Black doors of the library. She was looking straight, focused on her destination when a voice called, "Raina!". She recognised it all too well, it was Aryan!

What the fuck does he want now?

She pretended to not hear his deep baritone voice and continued her journey when she was harshly pulled back by her arm.

"Raina, finally!", Raina gave him a puzzling look as if asking what he was doing there.

"Excuse me?"

"Raina, I've tried finding you for so long and now, here you are, infront of me and I just can't believe it!"

"Leave my hand, Mr. Khanna.", Aryan's eyebrows were lifted and he squeezed her hand in his grip, in protest.

"What is with all the formality Ray?"

"Don't you dare call me that!"

"It's what that bastard calls you, doesn't he?"

"I'm warning you, don't talk like that to me or-".

"Or what? Is little Ray gonna hurt me? "

"Ah Fuck off Aryan!"

"That's not how a sweet girl like you should talk!",Aryan stepped towards Raina while she involuntarily backed up.

"Stop it Aryan."

"Stop what? I'm not doing anything, I'm just moving forward. If anything you are in my way."

Looking him straight in the eye, Raina stepped away from Aryan and gave him space to walk forward. He smirked and started walking. Raina also continued on her journey back home, when she heard a voice boom from behind her,"We will seeing more of each other. Get used to it." Raina pretended not to hear and moved forward as flashbacks started clouding her conscious.

*Flackback*

A timid and shy girl was sitting on the bed, wearing her bridal lehenga as she waited for her groom to arrive. It had been two hours since the wedding had gotten over but there was no sign of the groom's arrival. The girl put on her headphones and started listening to a Feynman lecture when the door creaked. She put her headphones down and decided to greet her groom.

"Hey, I'm Raina. You probably know that."

"Yes I do, moron."

"Excuse me?"

Aryan just eyed her up and down, letting out a pity laugh which irked Raina.

"What's so funny?"

"Ah you!"

"What?"

"You thinking you could be with me, me?! I mean look at you and look at me."

Raina rolled her eyes and cursed him under her breath. She never imagined the soft spoken, kind, humble Aryan that she had seen on her screens would turn out to be so narcissistic. Raina decided not to keep the conversation going, and went back to listening to the lecture, after the completion of which she would get changed.

Aryan scoffed, "Nerd."

"You couldn't come up with a better insult? What are you, 12?"

"All I know is that I am better than this, than you."

"Too bad you are stuck with this."

"Not for long."

Raina eyed him suspiciously and went back to her phone when she felt two eyes on her. She turned and said,"Are you a secretly closeted nerd that watches Feynman lectures?"

"What?"

"Why are you looking then? Go do what you have to."

Aryan went towards the bathroom and came out about half an hour later in pyjamas. Raina felt about their argument earlier so she approached him,"Look Aryan I know this is hard for you and this is hard for me as well. But if we try , we can really build towards a good relationship."

Aryan clenched his jaw at her audacity," This us is never going to happen, so stop dreaming. I mean look at yourself, your hair, eyes, nose,lips, body everything is repulsive to me. You are not even worth a one night stand and for you to think I would try to build a relationship with you. The audacity!"

Raina stood there dumbstruck as Aryan got out of her,in glee.

*Flashback ends*

Raina cried herself to sleep as all of his hurtful words came back to bite every inch of her skin, making her hate herself for existing.

*Next Morning*

Raina woke up from someone calling her, it was probably Joey since he had the keys to her room.

"Joey, five more minutes-"

"Aryan not Joey."

Raina rubbed her eyes and stood up almost immediately. Aryan smiled and greeted her,"Good morning sweetheart!"

"What the f-"

"You and this Joey guy seem to be really close. What is he? A boyfriend, friend with benefit?"

"How about none of your fucking business?"

"Your sassy comebacks, I missed them so much. Well I've got to go now, I've got an interview with a sports magazine. See you soon love.", with that Aryan walked towards her bed and hastily placed a kiss on her mouth. Raina sat on the bed dumbstruck as Aryan headed out her door.

What the hell have I gotten into now?
