We pulled up to the gravel driveway and everyone got out. I went straight up to my room to shower and straighten my hair to make it look decent. Then I put on a pair of jeans and a black top. I bumped into Liv on the way down the stairs.

'Hey!' she said.

'Hey, whattup?'

'You know, I was just wondering, how do you know Jordan?'

'Oh haha, yeah, we were childhood friends.'

'Oh, cool did you guys live in Washington together?'

'Yeah, my mom was our elementary school teacher' I replied. 'He's a really sweet guy but needs looking after- he's a bit reckless.' She laughed.

'I'm sure I can handle him,' she said with a smile.

We walked downstairs and into the kitchen. Mads was cooking pasta and Jaden was setting the table. Vinnie and Jordan were in the garden playing ping pong. It was such a cute evening.

'Dinner's ready!' Mads called. We all sat down, Liv on one side and Vinnie on the other. The pasta was delicious, but we all ate slowly to savour the taste. Halfway through Jaden made a joke and I laughed really hard, but I felt Vinnie's hand slide onto my thigh. My breath immediately hitched, and I gasped a little too loudly. I look at him with wide eyes and he tried not to laugh. As the conversation continued his hand moved further up my leg, closer to my underwear. I kept squirming in my chair as I felt my stomach flutter.

'You ok there, Mimi?' Jordan asked, clueless.

'Yeah.' I said in a wobbly voice. 'Just, uh, a bit of a headache.' I grabbed onto Vinnie's strong hand and moved it as best I could.

'You know, you and Mimi are so cute together,' Liv said.

What? Did she think we were together? Was It really that obvious I liked him?

'No, they're not together.' Jordan interrupted firmly. What was his problem? Whenever anyone mentioned anything between me and Vinnie, he got so tense.

'Haha no we're not together.' I said giggling. 'Vinnie's WAAAY too pretty for me.' I said sarcastically.

'That's all you princess,' he replied squeezing my thigh again.

'Nah they would defo not make a good couple. I disagree.' Jordan said again. The whole table had a bit of an awkward silence.

'Okay, so I see everyone's finished-' Mads said standing up, 'I'll clear up.'

'I'll help.' I said joining, hoping to escape this conversation and Vinnie's hand. Us three girls all took the plates and left the boys with an awkward feeling.

When we had finished washing up, Liv suggested a movie. Everyone sat down on the long sofa and turned on the big TV. Jordan got up to shut all the windows and sliding doors while the others chose. I followed.

'Hey Jord,' I said gently.

'What?' He said curtly.

'Dude what's your problem?' I said, getting a bit annoyed. He was being pissy all day.

'You have to back off Vinnie.'

'What?' What was his problem with Vinnie?

'I'm not blind, Mimi. I know you like him. But I'm not having you get hurt. He doesn't actually like these girls; he just uses them as a quick fck and then leaves them. I'm sorry but you're no different.' I felt my heart sink and my throat close up.

'I- I don't even like him Jordan.' I lied.

'Even if you don't, you'll end up fucking him and catching feelings. Then he'll leave you and you'll be broken.' I felt myself tearing up.

'I'm just tryna protect you Mimi. He did this with the last girl and she was super depressed for months.'

'I know. Thanks for looking out for me, Jord.' He smiled gently and put a hand on my back.

'Let's go watch the movie,' he suggested.

'No- um- I'm actually kinda tired- I'm gonna go up to bed.'

'Ok I'll see you tomorrow then Mimi.' He walked. off.

The minute he was gone I burst into tears and ran up to my room. I slammed the door behind me, and my back slid down the cold wood.

What was I thinking? He obviously didn't like me. I'm so stupid. No boys ever like me. I was just an ugly virgin. It was actually sad that I even thought I had a chance. I felt the tears streaming down my face and getting my top wet. I took off my jeans and crawled into bed.

vinnie's pov

Jordan came and sat back down on the couch.

'Where's Mimi?' I asked.

'She went to bed.' He said quickly.

'Oh.' That's weird, she was fine a minute ago. 'Is she alright?'

'Yeah.'

I clearly wasn't gonna get anything out of him, so I decided to sneak off and go up to her room to check. I gently knocked on the door. Nothing. I pushed it open and could see her facing away in bed.

'Hey, you ok there, princess?'

I'm fine. Don't call me that.' She said still facing away.

'Oh. Ok. What's wrong?' I asked again.

'Nothing! I'm fine!' She yelled, turning around.

'Woah, what the fck? I'm just looking out for you, Mimi.'

'No, you're not!' She scoffed. 'You don't a give a shit about me Vinnie. Just get out!'

What on earth was she going on about? I literally did nothing and she's acting all bitchy.

'Whatever Mimi. You don't have to act like a bitch.' I said slamming the door behind me. I heard her start to cry as I went into my room.

Later at night, once everyone had finished the movie, Jordan came into my room.

'Hey, did you talk to Mimi?' he questioned.

'Yeah. I did actually, she was being really defensive and bitchy. I dunno what's up with her.' I pulled a worried face.

'Lol I don't know. Maybe she's on her period,' he said laughing.
