I wake to my alarm beeping in my ear. I groan and throw my arm over to turn it off. I roll off my bed and hit the floor. I push myself up and walk to my bathroom down the hall. It's just me and my parents so I have my own bathroom. I turn on the light and assess the damage. Matted hair, deadly breath, and a huge zit on my nose that has yet to go away. I moan and walk back to my room. I open my closet door and pull out a 5 Seconds of Summer t-shirt, a pair of skinny jeans, and my red high top converse. I take my Teen Wolf hoodie off its hanger and toss it on my un-made bed. It's grey and has STEREK printed on the back and the Teen Wolf logo on the front. I shut my door and change, then walk back to the bathroom. My brush tears through my hair as I wildly stroke through it. I put 3 bobby pins between my teeth and go to work on making a halfway decent bun. Once I'm done, I put a dab of concealer on the tiny red mountain. Should I wear eye make-up? I shrug and put on some eye liner and mascara. I jog to my room, throw on my shoes and hoodie and head for the kitchen. I pour myself a cup of coffee-into my One Direction travel coffee cup- snatch my keys and head for my jeep. "Bye baby!" Mom calls from her bathroom. I have to pick up Malory because her Toyota is in the shop. When I get to her house, she's already outside waiting for me. She climbs in and sighs. "Hey Court," she says, a depressed note in her voice. "What's wrong?" I ask her. She shrugs, "My parents had another fight last night." I hate it when she talks about this crap, but I tough it out because I know she needs someone to talk to. "I'm sorry," I say, but don't press the matter. We ride the rest of the way in silence. We have a different homeroom, so when we reach school, we say our goodbyes until lunch. She walks off and I sigh, sometimes wishing I had picked a different best friend.
