"I love you too," I whisper and breath her in. She sniffles and finally pulls away from me. I kneel down beside my violin and open the case. I slowly slide the rosin along the bow and lift the violin to my shoulder. I take a deep breath and begin to play "River Flows in You" just as I heard it covered by Daniel Jang. I always thought he played it better than many other violinists, and apparently, so did Courtney. I heard her gasp and then I heard her shuffle around, but my playing never faltered- I was taught not to waver no matter the distraction. I played my heart out. It was if the playing finally got out all the hurt I've been trying to release over the years. It was if the playing finally served a purpose. I didn't hurt anymore. I was only happy- if only for a short while.
