TROY POV

in tears , I watched  as the fire men battled with the fire.
   I was seriously scared.
If anything happens to Efua , I won't be able to forgive myself......
  Seeing the way I could not save the one I love , I felt like a complete fool....
don't loose hope. A cops assured, patting me..

In less than an hour the fire was put out and several cops trooped in to begin the search.
  The building was seriously burnt , it was already a crime scene
I went in with them to help in searching.... I mean why won't I help when Efua was still inside....
Over here! an officer announced and  we all ran to the scene .
    there were traces of explosives scattered everywhere
I think it is a bomb. The leader of the squad informed,  Let us keep searching , we might get a lead....
Just then I heard a very faint noise
Help me...
  I tilted my head to be sure I heard right
Helo me!
Did you hear that. I shouted and the cops stopped to look at me
Help me! the voice said again, but this time It a little bit clearer .....
following the voice , it lead to an underground exit..
Help me please! help me please ! the person kept on calling
We walked through a long passage  and right in front of us was a man sprawled up on the floor ...:
  he was fairly burnt and was trying to lift his leg but couldn't.....i guessed the fire damaged his legs so he managed to crawl outside..
We all rushed to him and On a closer look , i recognised him as the kidnapper who took off with the ransom money...... 
   help me please ! he pleaded ....
I bent and grabbed him by the collar
Where is Efua? I asked and he winced in pain
Where is she? I repeated
She is fine . he managed to say
Then where is she ? I roared
There. he pointed to a trail , I told her to run towards that direction but I don't know how far she could have gone .....
  And without wasting time , I straightened up and was about running towards the direction when my leg hit on something
  Damn! I cursed
I looked  down to see a big bag , it was the ransom money and part of it were already burnt
  I shook my head in disgust..

I went down the trail part with three officers, it led down to a forest.
Efua! I shouted as we searched through the forest .
     Efua please come out, it is Troy!
We kept on going deeper into the forest and I paused when I heard a faint noise..
I looked at the direction the noise and saw a Lone figure walking slowly towards me ...
    Efua! Is that ........:::
Troy! She rushed to hug me before I could complete my statement .....
Oh God! I could not believe my eyes, my Efua is right in front of me .
    I caught and held her tightly as she kept on crying....
It is alright! It is alright! I kept on saying while the officers just watched us quietly.....
She was very weak so I had to carry her in a bridal style as we walked out of the forest ....
I thought I will never see you again. she said softly
Never! I can't allow that to happen. I said as tears flowed down from both our eyes........



Efua POV

Laying on the hospital bed , I sighed in frustration
I told Troy I was fine but he insisted on me staying here until the doctor said I was fully alright
I really hate hospital!
Speaking of Troy, I turned sideways to see him sleeping on the couch
I smiled
he had been awake all through the night watching me so I decided to remain quiet and let him sleep.

My mind drifted off to what happened yesterday, I prayed for a miracle and I got one ..
Flashback

I was really scared, I was stuck in one place and could not do anything..
Just then the bomb began ticking
I sobbed silently having lost all hope, then the door opened........
  I became alarmed
The person walked towards me and then took off my blindfold .......
   I widened my eyes in surprise, it was the slim man who packed my plates ...
I promised you that I will let you go as soon as the deal is done . He said as he untied my hands and leg.
  I tried to say something but no sound came out
I can't let a young girl die, I am not a murderer. I agreed to kidnap you because of the money, my sister is dying and she needs money for Surgery but I won't be at peace if you die.....Be careful and don't ever believe a text from an unknown number .he said in a rush as he pulled me up........

we need to hurry , we have limited time.
He led me through an underground exit when he suddenly stopped
Damn ! he cursed, the money! I need to get it
I nodded slowly
Just walk down the trail , it leads to the country side. He instructed  and then ran back to the building
I followed the trail and kept on running till I heard a loud thud, The bomb exploded.........

  I arrived home to meet a surprise welcome party
   My parent threw it to celebrate my arrival  and my friends were all there ....
I felt so grateful to God
I looked around for Troy but he was not in the room ...
He must be really busy. I thought within
Hey babe ! a familiar called and I turned sideways to see Betty and philo walking towards me
  You really scared the hell out of us.
I smiled lightly
I am sorry girl. I apologised and we all did group hug

I wonder who is behind this . Betty started , I hope the person rot in jail.
Sure , I heard the man the cops caught is out from hospital.philo joined in the conversation
Really! So where is he now? I asked and they both exchanged looks
Where else would he be, if not the police station. Betty answered with an eye roll
But he saved me. I queried
So? Betty asked, He is a kidnapper and must pay for his crime...
I remained quiet
I kind of pity the man, he did it for his sister.... I will talk to Troy about the man, I want him to get a light sentence...................

Unknown POV

That girl must be so lucky, I can't believe she is alive..
What is this I am hearing, Philip was caught
I hit my fist on the table and began scattering things.....
I need to be sure that the idiot won't implicate me, I can't go to jail a looser
I dialled a number and the person picked up on the first ring
What the hell happened? I asked in a huff
I am sorry boss! the man on the other end apologised.... I never knew Philip had soft spot for her, I had no idea he was gonna help her...
So you mean you hired someone you can't trust?I asked disgustedly and he sighed
"I thought he would do anything for money, his sister needed the money for surgery. I instructed him to take the money and wait for me at the country side so we can flee together . He explained and I scoffed
does he know anything about me? I asked
Not at all, none of my boys knows you are behind all this except me. he assured and I sighed in relief
Good!
I will  transfer money to your account now, you need to lie low for the main time, I will shed I will call you when I need you .....
ok boss! He said and I ended the call
I paced around the room thinking
If I can't have you , then no one else can have you . I said loudly........


Troy POV

With mixed feelings, I stared at the man in front of me ..
I was so frustrated he had no clue about the person who sponsored the kidnap and was  also grateful to him for saving Efua .....

immediately I heard he was being interrogated, I rushed to the station and had to miss Efua welcome party ....
I was allowed into the interrogation room probably because of my fame..........
I listened to the man as he told his story and I must admit , I kinda felt sorry for him but justice must prevail....
He gave us his boss name and the police were already looking into it......

how is your sister? I suddenly asked and he widened his eyes in surprise
She is not fine erm I mean fine. he stuttered and smiled lightly
I want to help with her surgery, if it is okay by you?
   He stared at me with his mouth wide opened
Can I? I repeated
But why? he asked still surprised
you saved my girl and I am very grateful. I replied  also , I can see you are a victim here also and I promise to help you with a lighter sentence when the case is all cleared up ...
Oh my gawd! he exclaimed as he broke down in tears
I am sorry I could not be of any help to you but I am sure if you can catch Alonzo , he will give you a lead...
  Who is Alonzo? I asked with an arched eyebrow
My boss that is his nickname. he explained and I nodded slowly ....
And without saying anything, I stood up and turned to leave when he said
Wait!
I turned back to face him
I really don't know who the boss it but I think she is a woman .
Woman? I repeated and he nodded
I over heard her telling my boss that Efua took something which is hers
And what is that! I retorted and he shrugged ...
that is all I know!
With a heavy heart, I left the police station pondering on what   I just heard
Who is this woman? What does she have with Efua "..............
