He had been so nice. Lee had been doing everything with Sakura for a while now. Shopping, helping with Sarada, and making sure Sakura was well taken care of. Today wasn't any different until it was. Until acting like a family felt a little too real.

Lee was about to leave Sakura's apartment and was being walked out. The two adults were in the doorway, both leaning on opposite sides. "I should remember to thank you more. you have your own life to deal with, and I shouldn't be bothering you with helping."

"Really, Sakura, you know me. I just want you to be happy, and I will do whatever I can to achieve that," Lee explained, then, without thinking, placed a hand on her shoulder. To Lee, this was a friendly touch, meant to comfort Sakura. That was all it was meant to be. But in a moment of weakness, Sakura held Lee's hand on her shoulder, then slowly pulled it down, and intertwined their fingers. Lee ignored it and didn't pull away assuming it was still just friendly. Sometimes friends hold hands. Even friends who shouldn't be together.

"But... I just... want you to know that I'm... so thankful-" Sakura was inching closer to Lee, keeping their eyes on each other. "-for you," she whispered, faces impossibly close until her lips were on his. There were a lot of things wrong with this, but at that moment, there was no backing away. Sakura was tired, exhausted, even. She had been anxious, and felt like Sasuke wouldn't ever return, and as if their marriage meant nothing to him. And Lee had been a source of stability and comfort for her. This is what would comfort her now.

Neither of them moved for a moment. Sakura had started it, and now, she just needed, if anything, for Lee to stay. Lee pulled away after a second, realizing what was happening.

"S-Sakura..!" Lee was panicked, he wiped his lips and looked away.

"...Lee. I... I need you to-"

"Sakura, you are married, I-"

"I need you to listen." Sakura grabbed Lee's hand again, regaining his attention. "I don't... I don't think Sasuke loves me. He never did. He used me as a tool to restore his clan, and I feel like he's never coming back."

"But you do not know that! I do not want you to get in trouble because of me."

"You won't," her voice stayed low, silenced, and sad. "I think it's okay this time. I don't want to be alone, and that's all Sasuke has ever left me." Sakura moved back in, this time, wrapping her arms around his torso, and leaning on him. Lee slowly hugged back, and let her rest on his shoulder. Sakura let out a soft laugh and gently kissed his shoulder. She pressed her body against his, strengthening her grip, and hoisted herself onto Lee, so he was holding her up from the ground. "Lee, even if it's just for now, will you stay with me? I don't want to be by myself."

The more she spoke, the bigger the issue became. Somehow the lasting effect of the embrace they were in had reminded her of the fact that it had been almost a year since she had last had that kind of intimacy. The last time Sasuke was in town he ignored any advance she would attempt, and before then it had been the 9 months of lonesome pregnancy. It didn't matter to her that she was married, or that Sasuke wasn't around. Lee was with her, and she would, without a doubt in her mind, take advantage of the fact that the person who had been around most was a man. "Sakura, I do not know if-" He said nervously as if he knew exactly what Sakura was thinking, but he didn't. He didn't want to acknowledge Sakura's gentle and pleading movements.

"Just... just tonight?"

"..."

"Come on, Lee. no one has to know. Lay with me," she seemed to smooth out her voice, letting herself off of him, and pulling him inside by his hands.

He was entranced. This was never his plan. He only wanted to make Sakura happy while Sasuke was gone. Sakura lured Lee deeper into her apartment, passed the room where Sarada was asleep, and right into her bedroom. Once she closed the door, Lee became increasingly nervous. He almost didn't want to believe what was happening. But it was happening. Sakura was back on his lips in a matter of seconds, running her hands through his hair before Lee's human instinct kicked in, and he provided the same pressure back to her, making both of them melt together in a hot, emotional, mess. Lee had the mind to question Sakura's actions, but every time he tried to speak, Sakura stopped him, saying that she was sorry for dismissing him so quickly all throughout their youth.
