17. Want

It had been a week since you last visited ema and tanjirou. Tanjirou was off getting a new nichirin blade, while ema was off on a simple mission. As for me I've been pretty busy, having to fight a few lower demons here and there. Some more capable than others, however no upper moons in sight. At the moment I was the only pillar at the base, it was quite lonely. I mean I had the kids at my estate, and they were fun to train but that's about it.

Maybe I should go visit oyakata-sama and see if he has any errands for me to do. Well I hope he has errands for me to do, or else I'll just make a fool out of myself.

I thought to myself, as I got dressed for the day, putting on my uniform and a haori. When I stepped out the door the sun was harsh and the wind was strong, you could basically smell the hot air. Walking past the entrance of the corps grounds, I saw gyomei entering.

Oh god, okay he's here, now is your chance to impress him, all I have to do it act cool and smooth, I got this!

I proudly strode over to him with my head held up high , but the closer I got the smaller my steps were getting and my head began to lower.

"U-Um g-gyomei-sama h-how um was your m-mission...I-I hope it was g-good."

I asked twiddling my fingers together, not being able to look at him in eyes.

Oh god this is so embarrassing...

"Ah (l/n)-san how many times have I told you to call me gyomei or gyomei-san if you're must, but it was good thank you for asking (l/n)-san."

he thinks I'm weird, doesn't he? fuck I need to leave this is too much. Or I could invite him to come with me. No that's weird he just came back from a mission he's probably really tired! What a dumb thought (y/n)!

"O-oh that's um g-good uhh yep......"

Gyomei gave me a small smile...a pity smile I bet.

"How's it going for you (l/n)-san?"

"I-I'm just um going t-to uhh oyakata-sama t-to run errands for him."

Why are you stuttering?! I thought your speech was improving ever since he died! You're going backward you coward!

"Would you like me to accompany me? I wish to get to know you more (l/n)-san so this would be a good opportunity."

He said calmly, while I was over here having a panic attack! My idol was asking if he could help me with errands!! This is the best.

"S-sure!"

Tanjirou pov

"Awwww looks like I have to go now!"

Kanroji-san spoke with a sad tone after one of the workers told her about she sword being ready.

She was a very nice girl, I wish to speak to her more! I'll make sure to see her off before she leaves

"Well I'll see you off then!"

"It's fine I'll probably have to leave in the dead of the night."

She was patting nezuko, it was really cute but sad I couldn't see her off. Before I Could produce any proper words I could sense a hint of sorrow.

"Tanjirou-kun, I don't know if we'll see each other alive next time... but let's do what we can!"

The people in the demon slaying corps are too nice to die, kanroji, (y/n), shinobu, giyuu, and deep down the other pillars have some compassion. Even that scar man must have some, it may be deep down but it's there. None of them need to die.

"You survived a battle against an upper moon! That's already a great leading experience. That's equal to around 5-10 years of training, you really have gotten stronger tanjirou-kun."

She bent down to pet nezuko face to face.

No one deserves to die, no matter how rude the only thing that deserves it is muzan m, he's brought so much suffering for no reason.

"Kanroji Mitsuri supports the kamado siblings."

"Thank you so much. BUT I still have a far way to go, I only won because uzai-san helped me! I will work harder to eventually beat kibutsuji muzan!"

I have to defeat him, there's no other way. Not only to make nezuko human again, but also prevent further suffering of future generations.

"Tanjirou you have permission to stay here, right?"

Kanroji asked, getting closer to me.

"Ah yes, for now."

She closed into my ears and whispered

"I heard There's a secret weapon here in this very village. Go look for it!"

She spoke before running away with a loud later. I could feel blood gushing from my nose.

The next day

"Nezuko where do you think that weapon is, that kanroji-san was talking about?"

Nezuko replied with a voice muffled from the box. As I looked around I saw two people, it's a kid and another person.

Ah wait I think that's a pillar, shinobu-san mentioned him before....

"Oh yeah."

The mist pillar.... muichiro tokitou. What's he doing here?

(Y/n)'s POV

Okay okay things aren't going too bad, I'm just sweating too much! I hope he doesn't notice or I'll be done for.

"S-so gyomei-san what's f-first on the l-list?"

I asked, my voice still shaking and I was still stuttering.

"Number one is picking up medicine for the butterfly estate. Then chopping wood for building purposes. After that is pick up a new wisteria tree and lastly to plant the tree."

That's a whole days worth of work, so I'm going to be with gyomei the whole day..... that's so cool!

"A-alright let's get g-going then!"
