Soojin
It's been a few days since our failed mission. Soyeon hasn't even spoke to us, not even asking us to come by her office. She must be really pissed. Maybe it's a good thing then, I don't want to be near her if she's mad. The last time she was furious, she almost set half of city on fire.
I was in the kitchen cooking myself some food, and maybe some for Minnie. I made a simple meal, a rolled omelette and some fried rice.
Speaking of Minnie, where was she? Usually she would be running down the stairs when she smelled food.
I guess she might be sleeping still.
Just as I was cleaning up the pots and pans and finishing up, a beam of light appeared behind me. I turned around with a shocked expression.
Minnie teleported on the ground with black ash on her face and clothes and she smelled like smoke. Her hair was disheveled and tangled. She looked up at me and her eyes looked like she just got her life sucked out of her.
"I- What the hell happened to you?" I was at a loss for words.
"Jeon... Soyeon. She almost burned... the entire office down." She told me.
Well, at least I know where she was.
"How come she called you and not me?" I asked.
"I didn't even get a call. I was just teleported out of bed." She answered as she sluggishly got up.
"Wait- That must mean I'm nex- ''
...
"Ow!"
I crashed onto a cold marble floor. I rubbed my head a little and looked up to scan where I was.
The office... Don't tell me...
Shit, I'm next!
"Seo Soojin!" A demon's voice yelled.
In fear, I turned around frantically, not wanting to look at this woman.
"Y-yes?" Oh god, just as I imagined, blue flames surrounded her.
"You and Minnie failed the mission! Not just that, you basically fell right into their trap." Soyeon scolded me.
"I know that, there's no need to shove it in my face." I brushed her off.
"Tsk, if the world ends, it's going to be your fault." She spat.
"Calm down, I'm sure there are more chances to come." I told the higher demon.
"What if there isn't? Then what are we supposed to do?" She questioned.
"I don't know." I replied with a big sigh.
"Tch, of course you don't." She rolled her eyes. "How can I even trust you?"
"Look, I get it! I messed up, okay? What do I have to do to fix this?" I asked her, "What? Do you want me to blaze down the whole city to find the guy? Or do you want me to go to Hell for a week?"
I looked at her and she was just giggling to herself.
"What in the world are you laughing at?" I glared at her.
"Just the way you gullibly fell into my joke. You should've seen your face." She laughed.
"Frick you." I crossed my arms.
"Look, I had a feeling that it was all a trap in the beginning. I just wasn't sure about it so I had my two guinea pigs test out my theory." She said.
