"You don't have to do this ya know. It's still early." You called to Ace from the kitchen where you were making breakfast for the two of you.

After your very early morning walk you invited Ace over for breakfast. The male in question was in your living room putting together your tv stand even though you told him he didn't have to.

He could at least wait until his brothers got here.

"It's fine. My brothers won't be over until this afternoon anyways, so they can help with the dining room table." Ace said as he rounded the corner into the kitchen, his messy hair stuck to the side of his head due to the sweat brought on by the summer heat. It was barely 7 in the morning and it was already so hot out.

Even Royal and Chopper had given up on playing with the doggy toys you had out for them and opted to lay by the fridge instead.

"You could have at least waited until after breakfast." You put down a plate that was loaded with eggs, bacon and hash browns on the island for him.

"Hmmm smells good." Ace sighed as he started digging into his food. You let out a chuckle at his ravenous appetite and started eating your own food, much slower then the freckled male.

"You should have started with the bar stools." You hummed as you leaned your elbow on the island. Ace stood across from you, his cheeks puffed out, a curious look on his face as he stared at you with his big brown eyes. "Thatch told me you have narcolepsy and tend to fall asleep when eating."

"I'll be fine." Ace said while shovelling more food into his mouth, right after he said that he passed out and since there was no chair for him to sit on he crashed straight onto the floor. The impact actually waking the male up in a coughing fit.

You rounded the island and knelt down next to him, patting him pretty hard on the back to get up any food that he might be choking on.

"So maybe the bar stools would have been a smart thing to put up first." Ace coughed out his eyes watering a bit, you just rolled your eyes and fetched him a glass of water. "Don't role your eyes at me!"

"I'll role them all I want." You chuckled handing him the glass of water, he just huffed and took the glass from you. You grabbed some paper towel to clean up the food Ace spit up and were slightly grossed out when you found Chopper eating it.

Remind me to not let that dog give me kisses.

"So what do want to do now that you're done with the tv stand?" You asked, it was still too early for much of anything to be open and you weren't too keen on going back to sleep after your nightmare.

"I can get started on the dining room table." Ace suggested as he looked at the box that housed the daunting piece of furniture. You had picked out a table that was made out of dark oak wood and weighed a ton.

"No, wait for your brothers before doing that." You remembered how the males complained when carrying it into your house.

Ace stood there for a minute his eyes closed in thought as thought of something for the two of you to do.

"The aquarium opens in an hour we could go there." Ace rubbed the back of his neck as blush fought it's way to his cheeks, you could clearly tell he saw this as a date but decided to let it slide as you saw it as good idea as well.

"Sure let's go."

~Le Time Skip~

After taking a quick shower and dropping Chopper and Royal off at Ace's house the two of you hopped in your car, Ace giving you directions to the aquarium along the way.

After a half an hour drive you pulled into a huge parking lot, only a few other cars dotted the parking lot. Meaning you guys would mostly have the place to yourselves.

The outside of the aquarium was made up of reflective glass windows causing the morning sunlight to bounce off of it and into your eyes.

Squinting your (e/c) eyes you followed Ace to the entrance. There was a short lineup as people waited for the closed sign to flip to open.

"The last time I was here was for a school feild trip." Ace reminisced he placed one of his hands over his forehead to block out the sunlight.

"So like last year?" You teased knowing that your male companion was still in college.

Ace's cheeks flushed a bit either from the heat or your comment.

"No in high school. I'm not that young," Ace mumbled, he took your hand in his as the line started to move forward.

The action caused your heart to skip a beat. You didn't know why though, you'd held hands with plenty of people and never cared before.

"Right. You're 21 how could I forget?" You rolled your eyes deciding to not let the hand holding bother you.

"I graduated high school three years ago I'll have you know." Ace let go of your hand so he could grab his wallet and pay for the both of you. Once his wallet was back in his pocket he was quick to hold onto your hand again.

"And I graduated when I was 17 that was like forever ago." You held a slightly mocking tone to your voice as Ace led you over to sting ray exhibit.

"You make yourself sound so old." Ace teased a playful grin on his lips. You shoved his chest which really had no effect on him as Ace was built like a tank.

"Oh hush I'm only 28." You huffed although a grin made it's way to your face.

"My mistake you're very young." Ace chuckled out. Your playful banter continued for a bit until an old couple commented how cute you two were together. Ace's face went red at that and his eyes opened wide in suprise.

You on the other hand just thanked the couple not minding the comment.

"Sorry I forgot we're not actually dating." Ace apologized as he removed his hand from yours.

"No it's fine. I do consider this a date." You gently took his hand back in yours.

You'd never seen a happier smile until you saw the one on Ace's face.
