School, if Missy didn't have only a week left, she would have had called in sick. But, since there was only a week left, she didn't. She sighed as she tapped her pen on the top of the desk quietly, zoning out. She had completely lost track of where the teacher was in the textbook, and she was behind on notes.

Whatever, she didn't use notes anyways.

Missy had never been more relieved to hear the bell ring and end the school week, and that's saying a lot, since it was English class and not math. Missy didn't even bother to go to her locker, she just headed straight out and waited by EJ's car.

With the weather being not much more above freezing it probably wasn't the smartest move, but Missy really just wanted to go to Ashlyn's and curl up in a ball, and not move until Monday.

Since EJ was staying with Ashlyn, he convinced her that it was just polluting the earth more and ruining the lives of their future grandchildren.

She stood there for only a couple of minutes before Ricky walked up to her. This was one of the rare times that he wasn't with one of his other friends, this was one of the rare times neither of them were with their other friends.

He leaned against EJ's car, his hands in his pocket as he looked out at the lot before them. Missy didn't say anything, and she was quite relieved when Ricky didn't say anything either.

She didn't feel much like talking.

"You doing okay?" He asked quietly, looking over at her as she took a deep breath, releasing it slowly.

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm fine." She shrugged, looking at him. It was evident that he wasn't believing what she was saying. "My aunt isn't getting better...it isn't looking too good and...yeah, I can't go see her which honestly sucks because, she's a family member I actually don't hate...so yeah."

Somewhere, mid rant, Ricky had grasped her hand in his, holding it tight as he nodded, listening to her. Ricky wasn't sure what to say, so rather than speak, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her close.

Someone behind them, cleared his throat, and they looked behind them. Missy's shoulders slumped as she seen EJ, he had been acting so weird. It was exhausting.

Ricky hesitantly pulled his arm from around Missy, nudging her with his elbow before he whisper. "I'm always here for you."

"Thanks." She mouthed at him, the corner of her lips turning up slightly as he walked away. EJ took his place, looking at Ricky as he walked away. "What was that about?"

"What was what about?" She asked, pulling her coat around her tightly.

Before he could speak, Ashlyn came up to the car, knocking on the hood to get his attention as she visibly shivered. "Open up the car, I'm going to freeze out here."

EJ rolled his eyes, tossing her the keys. "You okay?" He asked Missy.

"Yup." She pushed off, getting into the warming vehicle.

The only thing colder than the weather was her attitude.
