Saturday, December Fifth, 2020

Five o'clock Saturday evening came quickly. Missy had helped prepare large bowls of snacks and had even ran to the store to get a mix of beverages.

Ashlyn ordered the pizza and it arrived just before everyone did. "Okay, all I'm saying his Home Alone and Home Alone two is a must watch. So is all three Santa Claus'." Missy pulled a gummy worm from a bowl biting it in half.

"Tonight?" Ashlyn laughed, raising her brows. "That's at least ten hours worth of movies."

"Actually it would only be close to nine hours." Missy grinned as she ate the other end of the gummy worm. "So, ha. And besides, it's not like we have anything to do tomorrow."

"Look, tonight we'll watch Home Alone, both of them. Then next week, we'll watch all three Santa Claus movies. And the week after that we'll watch all three versions of the Grinch."

"Fineee." Missy groaned playfully, grinning. "Anything else we need to do to set up?"

"Nope, I think we got everything." Ashlyn looked around the room, nodding as she mentally checked off a list. "Yup, everything's done."

Missy nodded. "Alright, let's get this party started." As if on cue, the doorbell rang, and Missy rushed to get it.

She opened the door, revealing Ricky and Big Red. Ricky brought his hand up in a small wave as Big Red greeted her with a small "Hi"

"Hey guys, come in." Missy stepped to the side, letting them walk in. No sooner then they stepped over the threshold, Gina walked up the drive. "Hey Gina."

"Hey." She smiled at her, walking into the house.

As Missy went to close the door, she seen Kourtney and Nini. Now everyone was here, well everyone except for EJ. Missy closed the door, she wasn't surprised that he didn't show up.

"Let's wait a few minutes, for EJ." Ashlyn said as she pulled Disney Plus up on the T.V. "He should be here any minute."

"Oh, I don't know that he's coming." Missy said as she sat down. The group spread across the room looked at her, almost confused. "Oh, I- I just meant that I think he said, last night, that he had something-"

There was a quick knock on the door before it opened, and EJ popped his head in, smiling.

"I might be wrong." Missy sank down in the couch, looking at the TV. The only other spot available was right beside her, and he waisted no time sitting down.

"Hey, can I talk to you?" EJ whisper near her ear as she kept her eyes on the t.v. "After everyone leaves?"

"I I don't know that that's a good idea." She said quietly, her eyes darting over to am empty spot on the ground between Big Red and Ashlyn.

"I just want to explain myself."

"There's nothing to explain, you kissed me by accident, purely on accident, right?"

"Well-"

"Okay, good."

EJ leaned back against the chair, sighing to himself. Getting Missy alone was going to be hard enough, and he knew that, what he didn't know, was that it would be so hard to just get her to talk to him.

As the evening progressed, the group ate food that they would later regret eating, watched movies and talked amongst themselves. Missy hardly said anything to anyone so no one batted an eye when EJ whispered to her and he said nothing.

He nudged her arm, shocking her out of her thoughts as she turned her head to face him. "Sorry, did you say something?"

"I asked you to meet me in the kitchen-"

"I've already told you, EJ... no." Missy shook her head, keeping her voice no higher than a small whisper as she looked back at the crowd.

Eventually they started dropping out, one by one mostly, until all that was left was EJ. He helped Missy clean up the living room and kitchen as Ashlyn turned on some instrumental Christmas music.

It was nearly one a.m. when they finished cleaning the area, and Ashlyn being the compassionate and loving girl she is, asked if he want to just crash there.

He accepted the offer and sent a text to his mother, as Ashlyn dug out pillows and blanket. She tossed them at EJ before grabbing one for herself and wrapping a blanket on her shoulders.

"It's been long night, we should probably wind down."

"Do you mean my wind down or your wind down?" Missy asked, smiling up at Ashlyn before covering her mouth, yawning.

"I'm gonna go with my version of winding down." Ashlyn chuckled quietly, yawning herself. The t.v. was still on as Ashlyn flipped off the lights.

She turned on the Grinch, looking at Missy. Missy chuckled, and so did EJ. Slowly, one by one, all the teens dozed off.

EJ was the last, and before he fell asleep, he glanced at Missy. She looked peaceful while she slept, her face relaxed and smooth. He shook his head, feeling like a Cullen.

He flipped to his otherside and closed his eyes, sighing quietly as he started to fall asleep.
