Chapter Eleven

(Konohamaru's Point of View)

"Thank you for the meal."

Me, Kakashi, and (Your name) thanked our waitress for our food before digging. But I noticed, (Your name) hesitated to eat. She was right across from me, and Kakashi was beside her, so it wasn't hard to miss her behavior.

"Konohamaru."

"Yes." I nearly jumped up upon hearing (Your name) say my name.

"Do you like the soft boiled eggs that come in ramen?"

Huh? "Yeah I do..."

I watched as (Your name) took half of her soft boiled egg and placed it in Kakashi's boil then I watched as she placed the other half in mine.

"I'm personally not a fan of soft boiled eggs so please help me eat them so they don't go to waste." (Your name) came me and gentle closed eye smile and I couldn't refuse her plea.

"Thank you for the extra egg."

I smiled back as I bite into the half egg she gave me. Her face brightened up a bit and I was glad to feel as though I had been helpful toward cheering her up. After that, (Your name) didn't hesitate to eat her ramen until her bowl was empty.

"Thank you for the meal Kakashi. And thank you for bringing flowers to my brother's grave today as well." (Your name) thanked Kakashi while she bowed to him in her seat.

"Of course. I'll leave first and pay the bill."

"Okay." (Your name) nodded.

"Ah... thank you for the meal sensei." I stood up and bowed to Kakashi.

He placed his hand on my shoulder, a familiar scene, and leaned in. "I'll leave her in your hands tonight. Take good care of her."

"Yes!" I took my seat back and watched Kakashi leave.

"Did you have enough to eat?" (Your name) asked me.

I sightly blushed as I rubbed the back of my head. Why was I so nervous? "Hey. How come you just don't ask for the soft boiled egg if you don't like them?"

(Your name) weakly smiled. "Because my brother like them." She scoffed before continued on with our conversation. "Since you're full, how about a drink or two? It's on me!"

She smiled a smile that told me she needed to drink tonight and that she needed someone to drink with. "Don't worry about it. It will be on me tonight. Drink until your heart's content."

"Really?!" Her eyes brighten up again for the second time tonight.

"Really." I raised my hand. "Granny. Can we get two bottles of soju?"

"Yes! Coming!" We waited only for about a minute before we received our soju. "Let me know if you need anything else."

"Thank you." (Your name) spoke before I could.

"Be careful young man. (Your name) is no light drinker.

"Haha. Don't worry about that today Granny. Konohamaru is paying so I won't be going all out."

(Your name) must have drinker here a lot in order for the granny to know her.

I picked up the first bottle and got ready to pour a shot for (Your name) before she stopped me. "Allow me to pour you the first drink."

"It's your day. Allow me."

(Your name) didn't move her hand and shook her head. "Today's not about me. It's about my brother and since he isn't here, all we can do right now is drink in his memory. Besides, I want to pour you the first drink to express my gratitude." (Your name) took the bottle of soju from me, our hands touching, causing me to blush slightly. She then poured herself a drink. "Thank you for being here with me today." She smiled brightly as she held her shot glass in the air for a cheers. I picked mine up, hit it against hers, and we both bottomed up.

"Ah!" I put my glass down to fill it back up and (Your name) held her out for me to fill up too. "You must drink here often."

(Your name) took down another shot and nodded. "I like drinking. If I'm having a really good day, a good drink is nice. And if I'm having a bad day, a drink is all it takes to calm me down."

"I see. I don't actually drink that often myself. I'm always too busy with Boruto. Even after missions I sometimes have to keep an eye on him and his crazy antics."

"Haha." (Your name) laughed. "He's still young. He'll calm down eventually. But for now, you should let him enjoy his childhood. Being an adult isn't all that fun for the most part. You have a lot of responsibilities and one day he'll be in your shoes wondering how you ever dealt with him. He'll look back and be extremely grateful. He just may never tell you that. Hehe."

I looked at (Your name) for a second in admiration before smiling. "You're right."

"Huh?" (Your name) suddenly stood up. "It's Naruto." She pointed out. "Hey Naruto!" She waved over him.

"Hey (Your name), Konohamaru."

"What's brings you out this late Naruto?" I asked.

He sighed. "I'm working late tonight so I decided to send a clone to pick me up some food."

"Ah. It's one of those nights."

"Yeah. I'm glad I came across you though. I had something to tell (your name)."

"Is everything alright?" (Your name) suddenly became serious.

"Everything's fine. I just wanted to inform that tomorrow you'll be with me instead of Team 7. We're going to meet my father-in-law and test your Byakugan. I explained that you were used as an experiment during childhood but other then that, everything else is a secret. I personally wanted to see your Byakugan first hand."

"I understand."

"Well then. I'll be leaving."

"Yes, of course." (Your name) paused. "Oh and Naruto."

"Yes?"

"You should be proud of Boruto."

Naruto smiled and spoke only two words before he walked away to pick up his food. "I am."

"Sorry Konohamaru. It looks like you're going to be the only adult on Team 7 tomorrow. It's unfortunate I can't join considering they get to do something a little different then they have been."

"I'll make sure to tell you all about it."

"I'd appreciate that. Unfortunately I also think I'll have to call it an early quits when it comes to drinking with you. I'm going to need as much sleep as possible knowing I'm going up against the head of the Hyuga Clan."

"I understand. Allow me to walk you home."

"You don't have too but if you insist I don't mind."

I paid for the drinks me and (Your name) had and then we made way to her house...or should I say Kakashi's house. At first it was silent but then when I turned my head a little to the side to look at (Your name) walking beside me, I realized how tired she was and remembered something I needed to talk about.

"Hey (Your name)." I stopped in my tracks.

"Yeah?" She looked to her side to see I wasn't there and stopped. She turned to face me. "Is something wrong?"

I looked down and took a deep breath. "Thank you for taking care of me." I bowed slightly to (Your name).

"Eh? Kono...konohamaru..." I looked up to see (Your name) blushing and stuttering. It took her a second of stuttering to get herself together. "Konohamaru."

"Huh?" I watched as the moon light lit the side of (Your name)'s face and the wind slightly move her hair in her  front face.

(Your name) slightly reached her hand out and placed it on my wound. "Thank you. It's because of you, that I wasn't the one to get wounded. But please, be a little more careful. I hated seeing you hurt."

At that moment, because of (Your name)'s words, I knew I had fallen madly in love with her.
