{Christmas}
The next morning I woke up while rolling over on the bed, expecting to bump into Leo when I felt no presence. I reached my hand towards the side of the bed that was empty. My mind took a few seconds to register, before I furrowed my eyebrows, opening my eyes and looking over towards an empty spot.Where was Leo?
I slowly sat up, climbing out of bed and walking groggily down the stairs, my hair still messy from the tossing and turning the night before.
I turned the corner, spotting Leo in the kitchen over the stove. Christmas music played on his phone across the counter as I wiped my eyes.
"What are you doing?" I asked, yawning immediately right after as I propped myself down next to the kitchen island. Leo turned around, instantly smiling at the sight of me sleepy.
"Merry Christmas to you too." He reached over, placing a hand on the back of my head and kissing my forehead quickly.
I blinked up at him, still processing what was going on.
"Did you forget we have to bring some side dishes to the party today?" Leo smiled down at me, his hand moving from my head to my cheek and softly caressing it with his thumb lovingly. I could always melt into Leo's touch. He was so gentle.
"I didn't forget. I just wanted to sleep in." I mumbled, taking his hand off my face and instead holding it on the counter.
"Our families are meeting. It's a big day." Leo raised his eyebrows.
I played with his fingers, "Hmm...I'm excited." I smiled softly.
"Me too." Leo turned around, walking back to the store to stir something in a pan, " After all, I get to see Eli today."
I rolled my eyes at that. They were basically best friends at this point. And Leo has a soft spot since he's practically seen Eli grow up.
"Yeah yeah. Leave me out like you always do." I mumbled jokingly.
Leo laughed, looking over at me with a tilted head in a "don't be like that, you know you're my number 1" type of way.
I waved my hand towards him, placing my head on the counter sleepily. Leo was always better at cooking and I was better at baking. I always add too much seasoning or too little, so it's best if he handles this for now.
Nevertheless, Leo was right. This was a big step forward for us. We never got to do this before because we've always been out of town. Either I was doing my movie, or he was doing his and I would travel to see him on special occasions like this. This was a day I should remember for a while.

About two hours later, Leo and I stood in front of his moms front door, a place I had a lot of memories of. I haven't been here in over three years...I smiled slightly, remembering when I came here after all that drama with River to see Leo and how that night lead to our first kiss, and when I came over and met his mom for the first time."This is Haley." Leo stuffed his hands in his pockets awkwardly.
"Haley!" She grabbed my arm, pulling me in a hug suddenly, "Leo's told me so much about you!" She exclaimed, grabbing my hands and pulling back from the hug so she could look at my face.
"No, I haven't." Leo rubbed the back of his neck.
"He has. He's just embarrassed." His mom whispered. I laughed, still holding hands with her.
I looked over slightly towards Leo, admiring his face and the fact that we have both grown so much.
Leo's eyes scanned the door as he held the side dishes in containers to his stomach.
