Part 4

After the common room died down it eventually emptied and then me and Luna, the only ones left awake, went to bed. I tucked myself in the warm golden comforter and fell asleep almost immediately. I woke up to that familiar warm sun in my eyes. I pulled on my new robes and jogged down stairs. I walked into the great hall briskly but I didn't sprint as usual. I ate my food like normal person this time and everyone looked at me like they did when I first stuffed my face.
I walked to my first class herbology with Professor Sprout. Today we did some clean up stuff for the first years. The class went by slowly seconds felt like minutes and then I was time for DADA. This year THANKFULLY we have a new teacher named Remus Lupin, whom is friends with my father :). That class somewhat bearable and then I walked a bit more briskly to my favorite class care of magical creatures. Today we were doing something a bit different because Hagrid got a new animal.
Buck-beak was a hypogriff. Today the brave would be riding him. Hagrid had me step up first because I had always had a way with animals. He told me to bow but before I even did Buck-beak bowed and walked right up to me tossing my hand onto his head for pets. I chuckled and so did everyone else and Hagrid said "Well looks like he likes yer. Go ahead and hop on." I widened my eyes but hopped on anyway and once I was situated Buck-beak took off flying. It was the most free I had ever felt and I loved it. It was all over to soon as the wind in my hair and the sound of the hypogriff's large wings flapping was gone, I was on the ground again and now sitting in potions.
Once I finished potions the day went by very quickly and soon enough I was with Luna searching for the black squid. As she turned her gaze to the water I looked at her studying her soft features. I never noticed how beautiful she was, her soft pale eyes were caring and shone like the sea. Her face had such soft features looking perfect to be held in someone's hand. She was everything, kind, caring, and more than anything beautiful. My heart gave a flutter as she turned her head to me and we locked gaze. I felt my cheeks get hot and looked down and my feet embarrassed. What was this feeling I had never felt before? It didn't feel like best friends it felt like... love. But no that couldn't be right I didn't like girls I liked guys and no one would change that.
I suddenly stood up as the sky started to dim "I have to get to bed the sun is setting." I said. "Ok I probably should too." Luna said softly. Her soft blonde hair glowed in the yellow sun. Her eyes flickered like a blue fire in the suns light dancing on the water. I walked back up to the castle with her and we separated at the stairs and I was in bed before I knew it. I couldn't fall asleep and I didn't quite know why. I thought it might be Luna but no that's not right, it must be some guy. When I thought of her it was like my insides turned to jelly and I had to talk to someone about it so when Christmas came I decided I was going to stay at my fathers. We had bought a house near the Weasleys which made things easier.
On the train ride home I sat with Luna in a compartment, just the two of us because Ginny and Neville were with Harry, Hermione, and Ron.
We were silent as we watched the scenery change. I hopped off the train and ran into my fathers arms. He held me in his warm embrace and eventually let go. I was so happy to see him and I really needed someone to talk to, he was that person. We drove home and I blabbed about my year so far and he seemed proud when I talked about riding Buck-beak. When we got home I put my case in my room. "Come in the living, close your eyes, and hold out your hands. I have a surprise for you." Sirius said sounding excited.
