4 years along the line...

I hurriedly parked my car in the school parking lot and dang it I knew I was late.

Louis would kill me today. And just as I was about to make a plan on how to make it up to him I heard his voice . My heart beated so fast.

"Mommy" he cried walking to me with a tear stained face.

"What's wrong baby" I asked engulfing him in a warm hug rubbing his back.

"Mrs Wallace may I have a word with you" his teacher Mrs Mclaire aksed politely.

"Yes what's up?" I replied walking towards her

"Your son is very stubborn" she confessed frustatedly .

"What now" I replied dreading what she had to say.

"He refused to stay in class during language because apparently he knows everything about the subject" she said worriedly.  Louis was really intelligent and too cocky for his age like someone I once knew.

"I'm sorry Mrs Mclaire I'll surely have a word with him at home is that why he's crying?" I asked

"Partly mostly he's crying because you were late" she confessed and I felt extremely bad.

"Thank you have a good day" I said walking back to my car with my son in my arms.

For a four year old Louis was quite handy.  He looked exactly like Carter which made me jealous most times I wanted him to look like me.

That bastard didnt even know he existed.

Louis was never obedient if he didnt like something about an idea. For instance the other day I told him to wait for me before he ate his cookies I had to use the bathroom.

I got back and found him on the fifth cookie and all he said was 'if I waited for you I would have wasted my time mommy' Then he continued eating his cookies

Most days he made me speechless honestly.  He was quiet and calculative at times which made him a reflection of his father . He was smart and he was too cute for a four year old yet he never seemed to notice that at all.

I put him in his car seat and left headed straight home. My life wasnt bad at all infact a lot of things were great , marvellous ,wonderful you name it.

I got a job just after I gave birth and the pay was enough to pay for my mom , Louis and me as well. We shifted and moved into a more comfortable apartment.

I was responsible and my mother was ecstatic about how I easily pulled my socks up. It's an expression dont take the literal meaning.

"Mommy you were late" he pouted and I reduced the music volume. I stole a glance towards him once we were at a robot and dang that kid was good looking.

"I'm sorry Louis but work was hectic"

"I know that but you have to take care of me I'm your baby you need to come early or else I won't stop crying!" he commanded.

Bossy much? I almost said but hat would only result in a tantrum from him.

"I'm sorry pumpkin I'll be early tomorrow"

"I'm not a pumpkin humans can never be vegetables" he protested pointing hi finger towards me.

"I'm sorry honey"

"Humans can also never be syrup" he commented.  Smart kid.

"Then I'm sorry Louis"

"I dont forgive you yet I need icecweam" yes icecream the only word he still couldnt pronounce well.

"Next stop Molly Moon's Homemade Ice
Cream" and he screamed in joy man I loved that kid.

"You're late today why?" Asked my mother after she had hugged Louis . My mother loved Louis like he was her son. She kept on apologising to me after birth for ever questioning his existence and since then she's been too attached to the boy.

"Work was extra busy today and I had to take Louis for icecream" I replied taking off my coat.

"How was school pumpkin?" she asked the boy kneeling down to reach his height.

"I'm a big boy now grandma I'm not your pumpkin anymore" and that's all it took for my mother to burst into a fit of laughter.

"He changes every day" she finally said clutching her stomach.

"I dont like the changes though" I replied leaving the room.

I had a few presentations to write about and just as I was about to start working guess who called me. Yes the great Chloe.

"Sugarrrr" she screamed into the phone

"Breathe...what's up?" I asked impatiently

"I have hot news,  it's really hot extra spicy,  exquis..."

"Can you say the news now"

"I wont tell you over a phone call"

"Then why the hell did you call me?" I asked boredly

"To inform you to look into your mailbox I sent two plane tickets to you one for you and one for Louis" she said more calmly this time

"Why do we need tickets get to the point"

"I'll tell you when you reach England"

"I have a job Chloe and I cant just leave and tell my boss that I'm leaving to go get spicy information from my cousin"

"In my defense the news is valid enough to change your life" she said with excitement.

"I'm not coming"

I had reached  a decision.

"Where do you want me to pick you?" She asked ignoring what I had just said

"I said I wont come"

"Do you want to tour with Louis first or you'll be tired and you need rest so I'll have to take you directly from the airport which is which" she stubbornly replied.

"I'm not fucking going anywhere"

"Oliver I'm not going to play games with you , you either board that plane or I'll fly to Seattle and drag you here myself" she yelled

"I cant come Chloe"

"Stop being fucking difficult for a single moment and listen . Board the plane I'm not stupid to call you hear without a reason" she concluded seriously .

"I'll see what I can do" I said with no emotion and cut the call.

Should I go? Should I not? What news? I forgot to ask a hint from her. I was sure I'd decide after my shower.

What could have possibly gotten Chloe to buy my son and I tickets to fly to England.  I wondered holding my towel as I entered the shower.

I'd  find out soon.
