The sun was just raising over the waterline when Clarke opened her eyes. The warmth that was usually cuddled close beside her was no where to be found. She blinked her eyes open, slowly rubbing her hand along the bed. Empty.

Groggily, Clarke pushed herself up from the bed and walked into the room 3 doors away from hers, the small bed there, too, was empty. Clarke breathed a sigh of relief knowing they were together. Blake didn't go anyway without her parents. Clarke smiled and got changed, shoving her hair into a high ponytail, she was out of the door, sword on her back and daggers in place. She passed Lincoln on the way, who was helping an older woman carry large boxes into her home. He greeted her with a nod and continued to help. Walking north towards the woods, Clarke allowed herself to be taken by the sounds of the trees.

She used to laugh when Lincoln would tell her that the trees talked, but no she believed him. She'd had a fair few conversation herself. Something about the privacy of the bark captured her in and forced her to talk. She sighed as she ran her fingers along the leaves of rose bushes. Her steps fell silent, sleeping and tucking away with the natural sounds of the woodland around her.

A small battle-like cry chased its way through the woods, bouncing off to trees and falling over rocks, eventually crashing into Clarke. Laughing softly to herself, she knew that cry. She knew all her cries'. Walking further, Clarke finally emerged from the woods and nodded at Octavia who stood guard. "Hey O, You okay?" Clarke asked and accepted the small quick hug Octavia gave her in greeting.

"Hey Princess, I'm good, you?" Octavia countered, sweeping her eyes across the land. The 13 clans had been in peace for 11 years now, apart from a few mishaps here and there but above all, peace.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Clarke said and locked her gaze onto the two bodies that stood atop the soft sand. "How long have they been out here?" Clarke asked and chuckled when Blake fell over.

"About an hour, Blake's starting to get stressed though. Excuse me Clarke, I wish to check the border." Octavia finished and walked off, leaving Clarke standing idle leaning against a huge oak tree. She watched as her 6-year-old daughter use her wooden sword to push herself back up and turn to the woman across from her. Her cloak swishing behind her in the wind. Her little black boots barely dented the sand she stood on. She wore black trousers and a black top with a silver and red fake shoulder guard. Her face lightly painted like her mothers.

Her mother stood facing her daughter, holding a wooden sword herself, her face painted, and her clothes matched the 6-year-old standing proudly in front of her. Lexa quirked an eyebrow at the little girl, who took a small step back and charged, yes charged, at Lexa wailing a small battle cry, she raised her sword and tried to jab it at Lexa's stomach but it was easily deflected. Shaking it off, Blake tried to swipe her mother's feet out from under her, however, Lexa simply stepped away and swiped her own leg out and took her daughter to the ground with a small amount of unintended force. The little girl hit the sand and a small 'umph' falling from her mouth.

Clarke gasped lightly, taking a small step onto the sand, when the little girl looked up at her mother with water building in her eyes. Lexa stood tall, her back stiff as she looked down at the lump on the ground. When the watery blue eyes looked back at her, her resolve crumbled, as did her body. Lexa dropped her wooden sword and dropped to her knees, pulling the sniffling toddler into her lap.

"Shh, baby. Mama's sorry." Lexa hushed and rocked her daughter lightly. Rubbing her back. "Mama didn't mean it." Lexa soothed and noticed Clarke standing at the edge of the woods. Continuing to rub her hand up and down her back, Lexa noticed her daughter wasn't crying. However, one look into her eyes and Lexa knew she wanted to sob but the little girl didn't. Lexa frowned slightly. "Blake?" Lexa whispered and her daughter lifted her head and looked at her mother, noticing her eyes were looking behind her. Blake turned her head and looked behind her noticing her other mother was walking to them. A small, concerned, smile on her face.
