A new duo

Chapter 10

Third PoV:

Peter had just woken up in his lab after passing out from exhaustion (as you can probably guess, he hadn't slept for four days) and decided to go and work on his laptop in the living room.

Quentin was still asleep and Selena was at work, so it was just him in the room. He made a strong cup of coffee, already knowing he'd need at least seven more to actually function throughout the entire day.

He pulled up his emails on his laptop, which again he'd made himself, and deleted any junk ones and then read through some fan emails, press conference offers and other interviews offers. As he was reading one of the fan emails, his phone started buzzing like crazy and eventually he grew fed up of it and told MISAI to turn it off.

"MIS turn off all notifications for the next two hours."

"Sir, I would greatly recommend you look at the news on your phone. It involves someone close to you." MISAI said.

He groaned and tossed his laptop onto the cushion next to him and picked up his phone. It scanned his face before opening straight into the latest news. When he read the headlines, his eyes bulged.

IRONMAN/TONY STARK REVEALS HE IS ALIVE!

TONY STARK IS ALIVE?

IRONMAN IS BACK!

PRESS CONFERENCE WITH TONY STARK LATER TODAY!

He couldn't believe it, Tony had revealed the truth. Why? Why had he done this after so long?

He decided to give his father a ring quickly.

"MISAI ring TinCan."

"Ringing TinCan."

"Hey Pete, I'm guessing you've seen the news huh? Before you ask, no it wasn't an accident, I actually meant to do it. Pepper finally agreed with me that Morgan would be safe even if I did reveal that I was alive. Plus I'm not going to lie, I'm fed up of being indoors all the time. I wanna be with the team and you again."

"But you see me when we have lab days and movie nights."

Tony snorted before replying.

"Trust me kiddo, that ain't enough for your old man. We don't have that many days together 'cause your always working, on patrol or on missions. Missions that I could and should be there for."

Peters eyes widened at he took in what the man was saying.

"You're joking right? You want to carry on being Ironman after all that happened on Titan?!"

He heard the older man sigh through the phone.

"Yes, I do and I will. Not even Pep can stop me from being who I am. Ironman is a part of me just how Spider-Man is a part of you. Plus the world needs its real favourite duo, Ironman and Spider-Man. Not the fake favourite duo Mystery and Spider-Man!!"

Peter chuckled at his fathers antics and rolled his eyes.

"I sense jealously dad, and it's Mysterio not Mystery. And honestly I understand...what did Pepper say?"

"I am NOT jealous! But anyway, yeah she gave me a right talking to. Scared the living crap out of me. Generally thought she was going to murder me..." he muttered.

Peter burst out laughing at the image that was imprinted in his head and he could practically feel Tony's eye roll through the phone.

"Anyway see ya later underoos, I've got a press conference to go to. When's your next mission?"
