Another day passed, I didn't visit Diego. I was so exhausted and ended sleeping till 2:27pm. But I was planning to go tomorrow. I just stayed in and as you may have guessed, binge read my comics. I had dinner which was a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich with some sliced cucumbers and carrots with hummus on the side. It was really good also considering how hungry I was. I didn't think that my parents would be going out for a while and I didn't know if they trust me after the whole incident to go out in the forest on my own so I gathered up some courage and began to ask.
'Mum, dad I know that you probably don't trust me after the incident of me coming home late but it was an honest slip up and I'm 15 and I can take perfect care of myself I can't just be cooped up all day in the house and'
I was cut off by my dad, 'yes we trust you but please, be careful.'
I was honestly quite shocked by his answer and apparently so was my mum.
' But kai!'
'No we should trust him but it's too late to go anywhere now but tomorrow.' He said with a sigh at the end.
I replied with lots of thanks and hugs then went upstairs to brush my teeth and just as my head hit my pillow, I drifted off.
It was finally the next day and I quickly had some fruit for breakfast, brushed my teeth and got ready to go and see Diego. I arrived quicker than I thought I would as I once again saw the stone steps that led to the tribe. The same guard was there and had immediately recognised me so he let me through. I remembered where Diego's hut was so I rushed there but bumped into Santiago exiting Diego's hut.
'Oh hello Mosu, how have you been.' He had a worried expression on his face, he must be keeping something, it looks like he said something that he didn't want me to hear.
'I'm ok, I'm here to see Diego is that ok?'
'Yes that's fine, have fun.'
I hurried into his nicely decorated hut and spotted him. There was something off, it looked like he was trembling in fear.
'Hey are you ok?' I asked in panic.
'I um well no, not really. We you can keep another secret right?'
'Yeah of course! What is it?'
He explained to me a situation that took hours to explain mostly because he hesitated most of the time. They had a stash of goods like cotton and gold hidden away and apparently there is another tribe out there dangerously close to finding it and yes they are literally enemies or rivals or something. But it's not only that. The old, wise advisor of the tribe was on the verge of dying which would be terrible because he had built a close connection with just about everyone in the tribe as well as sharing his wise words of wisdom. He was also the protecter I think that had cast protection over and the tribe with his famous chant or something and apparently without that they could be in grave danger. I'm not gonna lie it all sounded a bit crazy but he was my friend so I had to listen. I know this sounds insane but I suggested telling my parents to get the local authority in a town near by involved and he panicked so much I thought he was going to pass out.
'Mosu we are friends and friends keep promises. Don't tell your parents. Promesa?' (Promise in Spanish).
'I promise.'Sorry if this chapter is really long! I have quite I few views which I'm really grateful for and am quite determined to keep writing for those reading! I hope you have an amazing day!
