"(Y/n), where is your lunch?" Tsukishima raised his eyebrows.
"Oh. Erm, I forgot to bring it. It's okay, though. I'm not hungry," you sheepishly lied, building a facade with your hollow smile.
"Tch, you're so forgetful," he clicked his tongue, as he handed you an onigiri.
"What?" you looked at the food, confused.
"Well it's my job as your boyfriend to take care of you, idiot."
You smiled at his tsundere gestures, reaching towards the food.
'You shouldn't be eating, selfish pig.'
Hesitating, your smile faltered for a moment, and you pulled your hand away.
"I shouldn't be taking your food just because I forgot to bring mine."
"Just take it, already."
You shook your head defiantly, but he placed the onigiri on your lap.
"Just eat, (y/n)."
"Don't you have volleyball practice later?"
"Since when did you become so stubborn?" Tsukishima flicked your forehead.
"Kei... just keep it. You're making me feel guilty."
"... Fine, but just know it's alright to rely on me, okay?"
You didn't say anything, only choosing to look down on the ground.
'No, he's wrong.'
"You don't have to stay with me if I'm only bothering you, you know," you murmured.
"What do you mean?" he tipped your chin up, but you pulled away, tears dripping from your face.
"I don't want to force you to be with me if you don't want to. You don't need to date me just because I'm pitiful because I am fat or lonely or something. It's okay to leave me if I'm only hurting you, Tsukishima."
Tsukishima widened his eyes in shock, glimpsing at the peek of your insecurities. Unable to read his face, you panicked, not knowing what to do.
"N-nevermind. Forget I even said anything. I was only rambling-"
You were cut off by the warmth on your chapped lips. Tsukishima cupped your wet cheeks, kissing you deeper. Finally breaking away, he looks into your guilt-ridden eyes.
"I choose to be with you because I love you."
