Changkyun's old professor rubbed his growing stubble, thinking of the name. "Jooheon, Jooheon, Jooheon," he chanted to himself.
Changkyun bounced his leg while he sat down, the anxiety shooting through him made his heart race, he didn't know if he should be calm or freaking out.
The professor snapped his fingers, "He's not a student but he comes by for lunch on Thursdays. he talks about his life and rants," he spoke, "I used to be a counselor you see," he explained.
The tension in the air was finally leaving the room. Changkyun now knew that he wasn't crazy and Jooheon was real. Which, he knew after he found out Minhyuk and Wonho was real, but it still felt good to know for a fact.
He played with the bracelet on his left wrist, the one that Jooheon gave him to be specific. "so he doesn't go to this college?" he asked, which there was no way he would be able to talk to Jooheon if he wasn't there at that time.
"I'm afraid not, though, he does work at a bar called Seven Nights I believe?" he tapped his chin, "Definitely not the job he wants though, I have been telling him to continue with his dream and at least try but he's caught up with the same excuse." he explained.
Now that Changkyun's attention was held, he leaned closer, "What's his excuse?" he asked, nervously tapping his wrist to calm him down from exploding with excitement from the new information he was receiving.
"Something about how something is missing and he can't continue unless he figures out what that missing piece is." he shrugged, taking a swig from his smoothie on his desk. "That's all I know, but I'm supposed to be at lunch right now if you'll excuse me." he smiled, standing up and packing up his stuff.
Changkyun stood up, rather quickly. he knocked his chair down from sitting up too fast. he stumbled over the chair trying to pick it up. He whipped around and bowed down quickly. "Thank you so much for telling me all this, goodbye, sir!" he ran out the room, almost tripping over his untied shoelaces.
Now Changkyun knew where his next stop was. He fiddled around with his keys, dropping them in the process. he picked them up off the cement and looked up to see someone standing next to his car.
A high pitched scream was heard from Changkyun while he scrambled away, falling on his ass.
"Jesus fucking christ you are loud." The person who scared the living crap out of him crouched down before him and examined his face.
When Changkyun calmed his racing heart down, he made eye contact with him, then he broke out into a smile. He knew exactly who it was and he was beyond happy to see him, even if he was quite salty.
Kihyun narrowed his eyes before he stood and pulled him up by his hands. "Tell me why someone who is bound to be famous come here and ask for someone like Jooheon?"
Changkyun stared at him in shock, of course he didn't want to sound crazy by saying he dreamt about someone who could possibly someone random and woke up knowing everyone including him.
But he couldn't keep it in anymore.
"I am going to sound completely crazy for this but I somehow dreamed about him? including you, some other people like Minhyuk, hyunwoo, hyungwon, and wonho which does sound crazy but you all are real and you all know each other but me." he paused, the face that Kihyun had made almost made his heart break. "I don't remember anything and when someone told me I am a rapper I looked so dumbfounded because I can't remember." he explained the rest, unlocking the car doors of his Camaro.
Kihyun had his mouth open, long enough to let flies come in and out. he was shocked to hear his story, but he also didn't know whether he should believe him or not.
As his face said it all, Changkyun rolled his eyes and moved him out of the way, opening the car door. "I know I sound crazy." he showed him the bracelet that Jooheon got him.
"I know its true because this wouldn't have been on my wrist if it wasn't," he took it off and showed him the engraved initials. "And I'm not from the future." he muttered, getting into the car while Kihyun went around the other side and got in.
There was silence between the two but Kihyun spoke up after his shock had gone away, "You're telling me, you know each one of us from a single dream and have a bracelet that you assume Jooheon has?" he thought for a moment, "Sounds crazy but I'm in." he leaned back into the car seat with his hands behind his head.Changkyun turned to him with a wide smile, "Really? can you call or text him and tell him?" he asked, holding onto the wheel while he put the key into the ignition.
"Woah slow down there, I don't know your name, who you were to Jooheon, how you met him and he hasn't even bought you dinner yet, slow your roll." he spoke, which he made sense. why give a call to your best friend to tell them that some random dreamt about you and wants to see you?
He knew where he was coming from, but he wanted to prove to him that he was in fact telling the truth, but now just talking about it isn't proof, the bracelet isn't hard evidence either.
Changkyun nodded slowly, "Yeah, sorry." he mumbled, running his fingers over the material of the wheel, it was rough against his finger tips, his mind was a blur just waiting to be cleared out and corrected again.
"I guess I have to start from the beginning huh?" he spoke, turning to look at Kihyun with a very small smile forming, almost non existent.
When the approval to start, he started from the beginning, from when he would only wear hoodies to class, when he would never go out with his one and only friend, how he found out someone was concerned about him who wasn't Minhyuk. When he was picked up by Jooheon and a comment was made about his thighs. to karaoke night and sleepover shenanigan's. To when Minhyuk dropped the coffee on the floor and he used his shirt to clean it while Jooheon had walked in. to their one month. through Halloween and staying at his parents house for Thanksgiving. and then to the crash.
he explained every single detail like how his room was laid out and how he thought his sister was his girlfriend and how it got him so jealous. From what he smelled like and how his laugh sounded. how his fingertips felt against his skin when they laid together, just all of it came together before he felt the warm tears trickle down his cheeks.
Changkyun did not realize how much he actually missed Jooheon, he was too worried thinking about where he was instead of how much he missed him.
As Kihyun stared at him while he spoke, he didn't notice the fact that the story took an hour to explain. he didn't know what to do when he started to cry. he didn't want to hug a stranger he just met, but if he was being honest, it felt like he had known him for years.
Without thinking, Kihyun reached over the console and wrapped his arms around his neck, pulling him into a welcoming hug. he mostly did it without thinking, but after hearing his story, he felt the need to hug him. he wanted to help him the best he could but not if he didn't get to know him first.
"I'm so sorry." he apologized, knowing it wouldn't comfort Changkyun, but he felt the need to say it just like everything else, "ill help you." he patted his back before he sat back in his seat and buckle himself in.
Changkyun nodded, putting the car in drive after he wiped his tears away. he turned to him with a smile, "Where shall we go?" he asked, moving around the cars to get out of the parking lot and off campus.
Kihyun turned to look out the window, "go to a nice restaurant not some crap shoot." he muttered, tracing his fingertip against the window as if he gone bored.
"Chinese it is then."
