Mor

This young queen kept surprising us. Every single time. I didn't know why it still baffled me that she had more cards up her sleeve.

"So let me get this straight," I said, still trying to wrap my head around how she was fae, a queen, an assassin, plus so many more things that I couldn't remember. "This isn't actually your 'fae body'?" I used quotation marks because fae didn't have two bodies, or, at least the species of fae we were. Even saying that in my head sounded weird. Our species of fae. That was new.

"Yeah, my alternate body is human, which is the one I thought I lost, but Fen here has a much different body." She gestured to the newcomer, who obliged. In a flash, Fenrys was gone and in his place was a snowy white wolf. Feyre and I stood there, dumbstruck, while Owen, being young and naïeve, ran up to him and patted his silky fur, like it was a small puppy who could not kill you in under a minute. Before I could say anything, Rhys, Cassian and Azriel burst through the door. The former looked around, and when his eyes landed on the white wolf, a soft snarl, almost animal-like, slid through his lips. Fenrys didn't hesitate to jump in front of his queen and snarl back.

"Rhysand," I said warningly. His eyes slid to mine and softened.

"Someone here better explain quickly." He said. I was about to speak up but Aelin got there before me.

"High Lord, let me introduce you to Fenrys Moonbeam, the ambassador for Terrasrn, a member of my tightly-knit inner circle," Just like us, I thought, "and one of my closest friends."

"You're friends with a wolf?" Rhys said, looking like he was going to flip his shit. I watched as Fenrys walked up to the high lord and transformed right in his face, and said mockingly,

"Boo!"

I burst out laughing. So did Cassian. Oh, how I would pay to see the look on Rhys' face over and over again. I looked back at Feyre and Azriel who had moved to her side to tell her something or other, and sure enough, they were both shaking violently from mirth. Fenrys subtly rolled his eyes, shifted back to his wolf form and strutted back to Aelin's side.

"What the fuck? Are you like a hybrid or something?" He said. I swear I saw the wolf roll his eyes again.

"Oh Rhysand," Amren said from the doorway. I didn't even notice she had come in, and I don't think anyone else had either. "Do you really believe that we are the only species or type of fae that there are? Young and ignorant you are." Though she reminded Rhys how he was younger than her all day every day, I saw a hint of a smile playing at her lips.

"No Amren, I know that there are different worlds and different fae," he said very sarcastically "but this wasn't exactly what I was expecting, nor did I expect another being from another world, in addition to Aelin, to be right in front of me when I walk through my door." I laughed at that.

"On another note," Amren said turning to Aelin. "I urgently need to speak with you, girl." Aelin nodded and started forward. Fenrys stepped forward, but Aelin put her hand out.

"I'll be fine, just play nice until I get back." He only looked up into her eyes and blinked thrice. This meant nothing to the rest of us, but then Aelin blinked back. Only once, this seemed to make Fenrys stand down and retreat back to where they were standing before.

Amren

I woke up this morning and instantly I knew something was off. I stood up to get out of bed, and a wave of memories came crashing back.

The cabin in the mountains with everyone

Walking through the forest

An ugly black creature stood before me but didn't see me. It had long, thin limbs, dark grey body, with nasty looking talons, and it was surrounded in a smokey substance. That was the last thing I remember, but right after that, I knew that was the time when my body got taken over or possessed.

Is that creature why I made Aelin come here? Did she know something?

"Listen, I think I got possessed by some deity or other and brought you here because of these demonic creatures." The colour from her face drained, but she still choked out,

"Describe them to me." And I did. Every detail that I could remember. She started nodding and pacing, not as if she was saying yes, but it was like she was taking everything in. Before I could say anything, I felt all the air from my lungs disappeared. Deja vu is what happened. It was like watching something from someone else's eyes. Aelin looked at me with shock in her eyes, but my vision was fuzzy around the edges.

"Deanna," she said accusingly. I smiled.

"Try again, my fire bringer," I said for some reason, smiling like a menace.

Her face changed something between fear, awe and like she was reliving memories, not necessarily good ones. Her voice was light and very cautious.

"Mala. Why have you summoned me?"

"Because you are these peoples only hope."
