Aelin

Amren slumped to her knees. She looked weak, probably from hosting Mala.

"Wha- what happened?" She asked me.

"I think you got possessed by the goddess that blessed me with my powers," I said simply. She looked at me, then at the doorway. I turned to see what she was looking at when I found Rhysand staring at me.

"And what powers would those be?" He asked with a curious glint in his eyes.

"I thought Mor already told you everything. I have fire powers." I said. Fenrys slinked past Rhysand and came to my side, nodding to confirm my claim.

"Yes, well telling us you have them isn't the same as showing us, like is it just a single flame or a whole forest fire worth?" He asked. Right, they wanted to see, but since I had my scars back that Maeve erased, would I have the whole depth of my power as well?

"Do you have like a river far-ish away from everything?" I asked.

-

I took a deep breath. Hypothetically, if iI did have all of my power back, I don't know if I would be able to contain it, and I told them as much.

Hence the river

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Fenrys asked from behind me.

"Well unless everyone wants to flirt with death and bet that I have that much self-control after all this time, then yes." He rolled his eyes but didn't say anything else. I looked over the edge one more time. The drop couldn't have been more than 10-foot drop, and the waters were calm with little to no rocks, which was why this place was ideal. Without a second thought, I jumped. When I was certain I was fully submerged, I shifted.

I was correct.

Flames and water battled each other as I could feel my magic needing to be released. I held my breath as the cold water lapped against me. I welcomed the familiar feel of my flames. Being in my fae body meant I could hold my breath longer, which was very useful. If I was human, I would be dead.

Feyre

We all watched as Aelin's magic let loose. There were no words to describe it, but I knew everyone was thinking the same two things-

1. How can one, demi-fae, a demi-fae have that much power, probably a similar amount, maybe even more than Rhysand.

2. If she wanted to, she could kill us all in a second.

As if reading my thoughts, Fenrys piped up.

"She one killed someone by burning them from the inside out,"  he said it like it was nothing. As I opened my mouth to reply, I heard a gasp for air. Aelin was sitting up in the water, her breaths were heavy and uneven. Fenrys rushed forward and made sure she was okay. When he was sure she wasn't going to die he stepped back to reveal a smug-faced Aelin.

"I can assure you that I have more than a single flames worth of power."

"Round two?" Cassian said excitedly. Aelin's grin only grew.

"You're on."

Rhysand

Why did it seem like both Aelin and Cassian had a death wish? I've known the general for all of five hundred plus years, seem the evolution of his training, seen him be shaped into a lethal warrior that could make full-grown fae soil their pants. On the other hand, according to Mor, Aelin was barely past 21, she was the same age as Feyre, and she could pummel Cassian in a fight.

"This isn't a good idea, is it?" Fenrys said. As the newcomer, he hadn't seen the destructive fight that the two had had.

"Not at all, but there's no point stopping them," I said, even though I knew it would be futile to even try to stop them, I just hoped that they could keep it as contained as possible. As they entered the ring, it seemed as though everyone was taking bets. Fenrys was obviously on Aelin's side, as well as Mor, while Azriel was on Cassians side.  looked over to Feyre and Amren and figured out that they were either not placing bets or knew that it would be too close to tell. Probably both.

"Okay, first off, don't actually kill each other, second, don't destroy too much," I said. They both rolled their eyes and got into fighting positions.

"Three, two, one!" Feyre said, and all hell broke loose in that ring.

Feyre

Immediately after I said one, Aelin threw a flaming ball at Cassian, who only just blocked it with his siphon magic. As much as this was a step up now that we knew Aelin had magic, they went in with fists. Aelin feinted left and struck right but Cassian saw it coming and pushed her back while getting a couple of good blows to her stomach and ribs. They both grunted as Aelin kicked him square in the chest, making him fall back.

-

The damn fight had been going on for at least half an hour.

"Should we call it off and make them both winners?" I asked Fenrys, who just happened to be next to me.

"They won't like it," he said, which was true, "but yeah, we probably should." I nodded and turned to Azriel. I signalled for him to grab Cassian, while I could see Fenrys sneaking up on Aelin. She threw one last fireball, which Azriel blocked before they picked them up. Aelin was spluttering for Fenrys to put her down, whereas Azriel was just dragging an overly dramatic Cassian away.

"I would've won!" Aelin shouted from the other side of the room. Cassian scoffed.

"Yeah, you wish! If wolf boy over there with you hadn't come to save you, you would have lost so fast!" As this went on, Aelin casually set her whole body on fire and walked over to the general, who scrambled up and ran away. They chased each other around like children for the next minute, before they collapsed in laughter, and my only thought was how we have made some new friends.
