Chapter 6: Misery

After school, Danielle is completely out of place when Aqua, Catherine and Demetria are chatting while on their way to the mall. Danielle wears her headphones blasting I'm Not Okay (I Promise) by My Chemical Romance which represents her mood right now. When they reached at the mall, Demetria asked to go to the department store to look for makeup, clothes and other girly stuff and Catherine and Aqua agrees. Meanwhile Danielle sneaks out and go to the amusement center.
"Ugh, I just can't stand her..." she said as she took her headphones off and she bought some tokens to play video games. She goes to play Dance Dance Revolution and she took off her Vans and her socks then she inserted two tokens and she played the Afronova in expert mode with x3 speed. Danielle is a pro-gamer and gaming is one of her exercise. She's lightning on her feet stepping the arrows on the game like she is Speedy Gonzales setting the dance pad on fire while playing this game. She poured out all of her tension towards Demetria while playing. She got double A rank and she took a break before playing the next stage.
"Woah..." Some familiar voice said and Danielle looked up while she sits on the dance pad.
"Richard!" she gasps and she stood up while breathing heavily and sweating after playing and her eyeliner smudged.
"You were so good on that!" Richard compliments.
"Why weren't you answering my texts?" Danielle asked as she stood up on the dance pad while selecting a song to play on the next stage.
"Oh, sorry. I was too busy at college. Y'know, research works." Richard said 
"Ahh... I see." Danielle said as she setting up the difficulty and the speed.
"Were you all by yourself?" Richard asks.
"Nope I'm with my friends but I snuck out from them and ditched them. They were with the person that I hated the most." Danielle said as the game starts and and she chose Heaven in 3x speed and in expert mode. Danielle is trying to impress Richard on her gaming and dancing skills and she always get the perfect combo until....
"Oh, there's Danielle!" Demetria said and Danielle got distracted and she fails the game. Danielle is so pissed as she gave Demetria a death stare and Demetria didn't mind and she even smirked at Danielle and she looked at Richard "Who is he?" Demetria asks then Aqua and Catherine gasps.
"Is he Richard?" Aqua asks as Danielle sighs. Danielle doesn't want Demetria and Richard meet each other but this happened.
"Yup that's him..." Danielle said as she wipes off her sweat. "Richard, this is Aqua and this is Catherine--" Danielle introduced her two friends then got interrupted.
"And I'm Demetria. Demi for short." Demetria held out her hand to Richard which it's getting on Danielle's nerves. 
"O- Oh... Nice to meet you." Richard awkwardly said and he awkwardly shakes Demetria's hand.
Danielle got jealous and pissed as she grabbed her socks and she wears it on and she also wears her vans shoes.
'She really took this opportunity to look cute in front of Richard while I look like a sweaty mess after playing Dance Dance Revolution!' Danielle said inside her mind as her blood starts to boil.
"Can I get your number, Richard?" Demetria said with her eyes are blinking slowly and she smiles flirtatiously as Danielle reacted.
"Woah, wait, what? Why???" Danielle objects.
"Just making friends, that's all. Why? Am I not allowed?" Demetria smirks at Danielle "As if he's your boyfriend, right?" 
"I- it's not like that--!" Danielle said
"Then that means it's fine to ask Richard's number, right Richard?" Demetria looked at Richard with pleading eyes and a cute pout and Danielle wants to scream.
"Uhh... sure..? I don't mind." Richard awkwardly replied and he gave his number to Demetria and Demetria smirks at Danielle like as if she won.
"Are you fucking kidding me?! Argh! That's it! I'm done!" Danielle grabbed her bag and she walked away as Catherine followed her.

Danielle is too angry to cry as she is in the washroom with Catherine and she washes her face. "This is what I'm talking about! Aqua is so naïve, thinking that Demetria changed!" Danielle rants. "She is taking advantage of being pretty! Who the heck cares if she has an hour glass shaped body?!" Danielle frustratingly and insecurely as she dries her face with paper towel and she looked up in the mirror and she wants to cry.
"Danielle, you're also pretty. Actually, you're way cooler than Demetria. You can play video games, you're unique, and can nail that eyeliner with a wing that is sharper than a knife." Catherine comforts her best friend.
"If my eyeliner is actually a knife, I'm gonna stab her..." Danielle said as she she applied her emo makeup routine and she sighs "She always makes me feel miserable and she always like 'oh I got your dream boy again, oops I didn't mean to brag but I got your dream boys.' And then when she found out that I don't like that guy anymore, she'll break up with him like does she really wants to piss me off?" Danielle said.
"Well, you know what they say, once a whore, there's nothing more and that will never change." Catherine said as Danielle sighs in defeat.

Days passed, Danielle and Richard got disconnected to each other and Demetria and Richard got closer. Danielle decided to avoid and stay civil with Richard as she's trying so hard to remove her feeling to Richard because she knew she is nothing compared to miss pretty goody two shoes Demetria. She gave up as she let Demetria and Richard date or whatever. Just like Demetria said before, Richard is not Danielle's boyfriend. So, Danielle has no rights to dictate what should Richard do or not. 
During lunchtime, Danielle is with Catherine and Aqua as always and Aqua keep apologizing to Danielle.
"Danielle, I know it's my fault. I'm sorry I thought Demetria changed." Aqua said
"Y'know, even if I forgive you, it already happened." Danielle said while stirring her coffee and she rolled her eyes and Aqua felt so bad.
"So... How are you and Richard...?" Aqua asks as Catherine looked at Aqua as if she's telling her 'Why the heck did you asked that to her?!' look
"Oh! We're perfectly great! Yeah! Richard and I are so great!" Danielle sarcastically said.
"Really? That's good." Aqua didn't got Danielle's sarcasm and Catherine facepalmed and Danielle got even more pissed.
"Aqua, there's what you call sarcasm!" Catherine frustratingly said.
"Richard and I are not talking anymore since Demetria and him met! Probably he's busy talking to her or maybe they're having booty calls even!" Danielle said as she drinks her coffee.
Then, out of nowhere, Demetria sits at Danielle, Catherine and Aqua's spot while having a phone call 
"Oh, Richard you're so funny!" Demetria giggles as Aqua and Catherine gave a snarky look at Demetria and Danielle breaks the plastic spoon.
"Oh gotta go, Richie, bye!" Demetria ends the call after she realized that she's with Danielle and the others.
"Really? Demetria?" Aqua said, feeling disgusted towards Demetria.
"And... 'Richie'?" Catherine said 
"What? Richie sounds cute on him." Demetria said as Danielle is so done with Demetria.
"Does it make you feel good?" Danielle smirks.
"W- what do you mean...?" Demetria asks, acting so innocent.
"Oh stop acting like you're nice! We all know you're a good actress! You are so fake!" Danielle said sarcastically. "You really like making me feel miserable, shoving up in my face that you can get all the boys you want." Danielle said.
"Oh Danielle, it's not my fault if I was born prettier than you." Demetria said as she flips her hair and she tucks a strand behind her ear.
"Prettier, eh?" Danielle smirks as she goes to Demetria and she snatched the bra paddings away from Demetria and Demetria gasps and felt embarrassed than ever. "This makes you feel prettier?" she said and the two also gasps as well then Danielle throws it away, then Danielle also get a wet wipes and she ruined Demetria's makeup. Demetria felt like a mess.
"Now you can brag to people that you're pretty." Danielle said as she walked away then Aqua and Catherine followed her.
"You messed up with the wrong girl..." Catherine said before leaving Demetria crying.

Later at night, Danielle is lying down on her bed, listening to Misery Business from Paramore because that really sums up all of her mood towards Demetria then got interrupted when Richard is calling. "Wow, this is new." Danielle said because it's been days since the last time they talked. "Hello?"
"Danielle, why did you do that to Demetria?" Richard asks.
"Wow, what did she tell you this time?" Danielle rolled her eyes while smirking.
"You humiliated her a while ago during your lunchtime!" Richard defended Demetria and Danielle got irritated.
"Look, you are not there during that time and you don't know what kind of a person Demetria is! She started it!" Danielle said.
"It doesn't matter! You shouldn't have done that!" Richard raised his voice and that made Danielle feel hurt inside.
"Wow, you have the nerve to call just for that? You didn't text me nor call me for how many days and you called me just for Demetria despite the fact that you knew me first than her? Is that how her charm works on you?" Danielle voice starts to crack and she chew on her lip as a tear falls down on her cheek. "... You're pretty unfair. Both of you love making me feel miserable."
"D- Danielle that's not what I meant... I'm so-..." Richard didn't make to finish his sentence as Danielle ends the call and she cries, hugging her pillow while Richard felt bad for Danielle. And that was the last time they talked to each other.
