Chapter 16: Cutting Ties

Graduation Day. Danielle wakes up staring at the ceiling. Most typical high school student probably celebrating right now because finally, good bye hell days of high school but in Danielle's mind, yeah she survived hell days of high school and this graduation thing is just like a tutorial of the game and college was like the first stage of the game. Like if high school is hell, college was like the deeper side of hell.
"Danielle, wake up! You need to get ready for your graduation day!" Her mom said as Danielle just groaned in response. Her mom is more excited than her. Well, of course it's normal for a parent to get excited for their child's graduation day but Danielle is just too anxious to get excited. 
She groggily sat up while frowning like she is Squidward with her facial expression as she goes downstairs to eat breakfast.
"Congrats in your graduation day!" Joseph said as Danielle just nodded as she grabbed her bowl and poured the cereals on her bowl then milk. 
"Danielle, you should be happy that you're graduating!" Her mother cheers her up but Danielle just sighed in response. 
'Why would I be happy? I don't even know what program should I take in college and I have no idea what will happen in the future. I don't even know what I'm doing with my life...' Danielle said in her mind as the milk overflowed from her bowl
"Danielle the milk!" Her mom screamed and Danielle snaps out from reality as she shakes her head and she pulled the milk away and she cleaned the table and she sighs deeply.

After eating breakfast, Danielle goes to the bathroom to take a bath as she soaked herself in the bathtub with bubbles and she kept on overthinking about college as she sighs deeply. "I shouldn't overthink about that... At least I will be away from Skye, Demetria and Marina..." Danielle said  as she washes her face.

After taking a shower, her head is wrapped with a white towel and she wears her bathrobe as her mom gets in her bedroom to do Danielle's hair and makeup. Her mom is excited for her graduation as Danielle feels the opposite. As she sits down on the chair, her mom starts to do her hair and then a knock was heard on her door.

"Hey." It was Richard and Danielle smiles a bit at him. "What's with that smile? Aren't you excited that you're finally graduating high school?" Richard said
"I am excited.." Danielle said as Richard raised an eyebrow
"Wow... I really felt the excitement" Richard said sarcastically as Danielle chuckles and Richard sighs. "Skye?" He asks as he kinda know why Danielle is acting like that and Danielle looked at Richard and gave a small nod.
"Hey... this will be the last day you have to see him." Richard said
"Yeah... Hopefully." Danielle said as her mom starts to do Danielle's makeup.
"I'll see you downstairs." Richard said as he goes downstairs and Danielle nodded.

After doing Danielle's hair and makeup, her mom leaves her so that Danielle could change into her graduation dress and her toga. She looked at her toga and she remembered when they had their graduation pictorial. 

"Fucking necktie..." Skye struggles putting his necktie around his neck. Danielle giggles as she approached Skye and helped him to his necktie.
"Come here, you look like a kid who doesn't know how to wear neckties~" she giggles 
"I don't wear ties. You know what my fashion statement is." Skye said as they were too close to each other as their classmates teases them but Danielle felt awkward but Skye didn't mind because he really likes Danielle but he's still in a relationship with Marina which was reminded by Demitria that time and he pulls away from Danielle after Danielle put his tie on.
"Thanks..." Skye smiles at Danielle as Danielle smiles back but awkwardly.
"No problem..." Danielle said.

"I regret being friends with you Skye... I shouldn't have talked to you on the first day. Many people already gave a sign that you were bad news but I never listened. I wish I could turn back time so I could undo all my actions towards you..." Danielle said as she puts her clothes on

When Danielle finished changing, she put on her shoes and she looked like a different person. Not the emo teenage kid but a grown woman. Danielle gets in the car and her mother drives on their way to the school. Danielle has her phone with her and listened to Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. 

When Danielle steps out of the car, her classmates are looking at her because she looks like a different person. No emo makeup nor no emo hairstyle. Her brown curls flows behind her and her gold eyeshadow makes her eyes sparkle and it matches her beautiful red lips. 

"Danny!!!" Catherine and Aqua rushed to her and gave her a warm hug.
"Oh my gosh you're so pretty~!" Aqua said
Danielle gave a small smile "... thanks" she said and she sighs. 
"Well, the ceremony's gonna start. See you guys later!" Catherine said as they went to their respectful class group. Danielle on the other hand goes to her class as well and accidentally bumped to someone.

"Sorry" she said as she catches her graduation cap and put it on her head and she looked up and it was Skye.
Danielle avoided eye contact with Skye and she thickly gulps. Danielle noticed Skye's necktie is undone.
"I... I should go to my seat now." Skye said.
"Wait." Danielle said as she held Skye's wrist and she pulled him closer. Skye looked at her confusingly and he blushed.
Danielle sighs and she carefully does Skye's necktie just like when they had their graduation pictorial. Danielle finally looked at Skye's eyes. Skye smiles and softly said "thank you" 

After the ceremony, students laughed, cry, cheered and everything while Danielle is just standing there in a crowded room and sighs. People throwing their graduation caps while she on the other hand just slowly took it off and placed it on her seat. She saw Skye as well and he approached her. 
"Hey..." he casually said 
"Hey." she replied
"I guess this is our goodbye?"
"Probably."
Skye gave a sad smile at Danielle. "I'm glad I met you." he said and he leans closer but Danielle steps back.
"You should check on Marina. Not me." she said and Skye nodded slowly.
"Right..." he said and he slowly looks away but he can't take his eyes off Danielle and Danielle sadly smiles at Skye, thinking how precious their friendship was but Skye ruins it because he fell in love.

While looking at Skye, someone covered Danielle's eyes and Danielle starts to smile because she obviously knows who did it.
"You know Zack, you're gonna ruin my eye makeup." She giggles and she turns around to look at Zack.
Zack giggles "Finally you're smiling. These past few days I noticed that you're all gloomy." he said while he holds Danielle's hands.
Danielle sighs "things happened lately... plus y'know, college fears." Danielle said.
"I saw you talked with Skye, is there any closure between the two of you?" Zack asked and Danielle just shrugs.
"I don't know Zack, it's just... I regret my friendship with Skye. He's like a male version of me but when he confessed, everything crumbles down. Plus, what Demetria did to me adds the crack of our friendship." Danielle said as she looked down on their hands and Zack pouts.
"Are you going to forgive him?" Zack asked
"I already did. But that doesn't mean I'll forget everything that happened. Both good and bad." Danielle replies.
"Are you going to cut ties with him?"
"I don't know..."

Danielle let go of Zack's hand and she looks at Skye which is with his girlfriend. Taking pictures together. Skye is on Marina's arms but he is looking at Danielle. Danielle looked at Zack and she pulls him away.
"maybe you're right Zack. I think I should cut ties with him." Danielle said. "It's for our own good."
