It was at one of Nekoma's practice matches during Kenma's second year. Kenma couldn't recall against who, or who won and who lost. All he remembered was the moment he realized he loved Kuroo.
Kuroo was going up for a spike, yelling for Kenma to set to him. As usual, Kenma complied, because he never ignored what Kuroo said to him. The set was messy since Yaku had received the ball weirdly. Kenma was sure that Kuroo wasn't going to be able to hit it correctly.
But he did. Like always.
And Kuroo cheered loud...like always.
And Kenma felt himself smile...like always.
He couldn't pinpoint what was different about that day. Maybe his feelings had finally boiled over. Maybe he was more self-aware. Maybe he just finally confronted what he knew all along.
Kenma loved Kuroo.
