"What do you mean you killed them?" Jasper snarled into the phone.
Emmett's voice was terrified, rambling incredibly fast on the other end.
"I don't know! I came to water them and they were dead!"
It wasn't until Jasper got there that he saw with his own eyes the destruction the two of them had caused.
It was like a giant massacre. All of the plants that Ophelia Swan had trusted them to were dead. Their withering leaves and sad colors made Jasper smack Emmett on the back of the head so hard they could almost hear it crack.
"What were you thinking?"
"It's not a problem right? We can just get her some new ones." Emmett tried hard to convince himself.
"She's gonna know."
"She's not gonna know."
"Yes she will."
"No she won't. How would she know?"
The two bickered back and forth for a long time, unsure of what to do before they decided the only thing they could do was get her new ones and hope for the best.
Walking out of the store holding eight potted plants, all resembling the ones they had accidentally murdered, Jasper looked over at his scared sibling. "Em?"
"Yeah?"
"Talk to the plants this time."
A very short but funny chapter because I could totally see these two doing this lmao
