a note from the author

✯ ✯ ✯

i have written this story in a way that can be seen in many perspectives. i have always believed that one thing can be interpreted into a million other things once seen through different people's eyes. the truths may not be the truths to some, and the lies may not be the lies to some. what's right for you may not be right for other people. the food you so conveniently thrown out in the garbage may be the food that can feed a family for a week. the sarcastic snaps you do when you're in your mood swings might be the cause of other people breaking down. the simple "hey there!" to someone in the hallway may be the reason for a person to put their razor away.

whatever you perceive something to be tells a lot about something and more importantly, tells a lot about you.

and so, to make the long story short, don't be afraid to see the chapters at different angles. this is one of the main goals of the story. whether you'll believe what you see or what other people see is up to you. feel free to see things in a new light.

depression, existentialism and thoughts of very triggering kind are present through out the entirety of this novel. if you are uncomfortable with this, please tread the book carefully.

the lowercase letters are (very much) intended.

this type of formatting goes way beyond the reasons of aesthetics and metaphors for equality. one reason why i chose to present the story this way is because of its rawness. this means that i haven't looked through anything, edited any of the contents or doubted the writing i put down on paper. this means that the words i wrote were the exact thoughts struggling to flow in my mind. because i am a complete perfectionist, there is always an unspoken need for me to reread and edit everything to the point that it is far beyond recognition, and i would like to avoid that as much as possible.

another reason as to why i have written the book this way is because it represents such a vital message that i want to express to you readers. restless is all about metaphors, and i assure you, these lowercase letters are more than what meets the eye. whatever message they are trying to send, i'm sure you'll all figure it out as you go along the chapters.

updating may vary from the ungodly hours of three a.m. to lazy afternoons at 5 p.m. it depends on a lot of factors, mostly on my packed class schedule and my unusual writing mood. hopefully, i get to update this book for at least four times every month.

aside from that, i hope you will enjoy the story! feel free to send me your thoughts. i would love to hear from you awesome people.
