Chen POV
My eyes were pried open, it allowed light flooding through the nearest window to abruptly wake me. We forgot to shut the blinds last night; how others in the room are still asleep while this blinding light penetrates is beyond me. It practically pulled my eyelids apart.
Bringing my hands up I ran them down my face, attempting to clear the sleep from still half closed eyelids. I glanced around at the four sleeping bodies in the room, Baekhyun slept in the bed opposite, Chanyeol's next to his. Sehun crashed in the corner while Yunho lay in the bed along side mine.
My eyes lingered a few seconds too long on his sleeping figure. Yunho's dark brown hair flopped messily into peacefully closed eyes and momentarily, I wondered if the truth would be acceptable; for it is bound to come out at some point...
I shouldn't. Admittedly it is not fair on me; any other way would be far crueler for him.
To think I had almost forgotten. That these memories had almost become entirely consigned to oblivion. A pang of guilt resonated within and an invisible lump formed against my throat.
Immediately I swallowed. Pushing strenuously to remove myself from the bed into a standing position; shaking my head as if to remove all thoughts I began moving forward. Cautiously, as to not wake anyone.
I should have known careful is most definitely not my middle name; the ringing of a smashed glass echoed around the room. I had knocked it from the previous position on the floor last night. Who on earth would put a glass—oh wait, it is mine.
Sighing, I flinched slightly as the last peice of glass; previously filled with water—clearly not anymore—fell with a clatter.
"Jesus Chen why is it always you that wakes me up! You have some nice features but for some reason whenever I see them my fist seems to gain a mind of its own, begging me TO PLUNGE IT INTO YOUR FACE!!" Sehun's voice rose a decibel louder upon each new word until Baekhyun and Chanyeol were both on their feet from the racket; shooting daggers at both me and Sehun simultaneously.
"What the hell is happening?" My head swung towards the direction of Yunho's small voice, a slightly sympathetic look aimed towards his sleep deprived figure.
"I forgot my glass left on the floor last night, my foot caught it. I was trying to be silent I swear." While Sehun huffed behind Yunho just nodded mutely, swinging his legs around to rest on the chilled ground. I watched when he rubbed a hand against his eyes; clearly still half asleep, before standing. My eyes continued to follow Yunho as he shuffled straight past, stepping around Sehun's seething figure.
Chanyeol turned to Sehun as soon as Yunho's shadow floated past the door. "Give it a rest would you. Chen apologised, that is already more then you ever do." Sehun opened his mouth, an exasperated breath escaped alongside a small bought of hysterical laughter.
Sehun moved past Chanyeol and Baekhyun, shaking his head whilst striding purposefully into the corridor. "I will apologise when a mistake has been made. Any ideas on why I have not apologised yet, maybe because I am yet to make a mistake!"
"Do not worry your pretty little head Sehun, you have reminded us of that on multiple occasions. We are experts by now." The sarcasm fell naturally, while I expected at least a small chuckle from either Chanyeol or Baekhyun; I received none.
Left alone in the room once others vacated towards Yeosang's shouts I sighed, mumbling sneeringly to myself. "Why does no one ever laugh anymore?" A rhetorical question; I knew why. In a situation such as this sarcasm was never appreciated.
I cannot exactly apologise for being born with a sense of humour as dry as a bone, nor will I ever cop a plea for who it has made me.
A call from the direction of the kitchen caught my attention, strolling towards it I saw everyone crowded around a small computer; Yeosang commanding the technology.
