Two weeks later, Sam, Dean, and I are on our way back to Texas. We caught wind of a couple of murders that could have been caused by a demon. The fact that the murders happened in the same town that I lived in over the summer sent up a few red flags as well, making me think that maybe there were demons looking for me and are just a few weeks late to the party.
I step out of the car and walk up to the front door of the bar. I take a deep breath before pushing open the large door and walking in. I see Grayson getting the chairs off the tables and smile slightly.
"Sorry, we're closed." He says, not turning around.
"Miss me, mystery boy?" I ask with a smirk. Grayson whips around with wide eyes and smiles when he sees me. He runs over to me and throws his arms around me, the force of his impact nearly knocking me to the ground. I laugh as I hug him back. "I missed you too, Gray."
"What the hell happened to you?" He asks, pulling back. "You just disappeared."
"I left you a note." I say, walking behind the bar.
"'Gray, don't worry about me, I'm fine. There's some cash under my mattress for you. Don't do anything I wouldn't do, JJ.'" He recites and I smirk slightly as I pour myself a shot of vodka. "Not very helpful." I shrug and down my shot, not even wincing at the burn anymore.
"Well, at least I told you I was safe." I tell him. He rolls his eyes before looking at the men who were standing by the door still. "Oh, Grayson this is my dad, Dean and my uncle, Sam."
"Your dad?" Grayson asks, turning to look at me, brow furrowed in confusion. "I thought you said your dad was dead?"
"It's a long story." I tell him. "So where's TJ? I kinda need to talk to him about something."
"You mean those murders?" He asks. I nod, raising a brow slightly in question. "Lucky guess." I nod slowly, taking note of his "lucky guess". He hasn't been lucky a day in his life.
"So, uh, any luck finding your dad?" I ask, looking around the bar for anything out of place. Grayson shakes his head as he goes back to taking down the chairs.
"Not yet." He says. "I keep hopin' maybe he'll come through here, but he hasn't yet."
"How would you know who he is if you've never met him?" I ask as I start helping him with the chairs.
"Well, mom always said I looked like him, so I guess I'll be looking for a guy who looks like me." He says with a shrug.
"You got a name or anything to go off of?" I ask.
"Uh, his last name's W-somethin'." He says with another shrug. "Wilson or Williams or something like that." I nod slowly. Another red flag.
When Grayson and I met, he told me he didn't know his father's name. Now he's telling me that he knows his last name. Something's not right.
"Well, we'll be back later when TJ's here." I say after a moment. "I'll see you then."
"Yeah. See you then." He says. I nod again and walk out, Sam and Dean following me.
"What's wrong?" Dean asks. I shake my head as I walk to the car.
"Something's not right." I mutter, turning to face them when I reach the car. "I asked Grayson a million questions over the summer about his dad. He always said he didn't know his name, just that he looked like him. Now all of a sudden, he knows his last name?"
"So what do you think? You think he's the demon we're after?" Sam asks. I shake my head again, looking away as I think.
"Maybe. I don't know." I say, looking back at them. "But something's going on with him and whatever it is, we're gonna save him."
