Authors POV:
Chadwick drove to a local cafe and took a seat in the booth. He sipped some coffee as he pondered over what previously happened. A homeless man slowly approached the window and tapped it. Chadwick simply looked at the homeless. When the homeless man asked for some money; he noticed his car had been vandalized.

He quickly ran out the cafe. A date had been carved into the driver side of his car door. It was today's date. He looked around the area and saw nobody; except for the homeless man. Chadwick questioned the man about his car. The homeless man informed Chadwick that he saw someone in all black near the car.

"Fuck!" Chadwick yelled as he realized the killer was near him.

Chadwick gave the homeless man some money and thanked him. Taking a closer look, he noticed a small piece of cloth on the passenger side. Next stop, investigative laboratory.

"Is that my good friend, Chadwick?" Drew asked as she glanced over her shoulder.
"You always hear me before I enter a room." Chadwick replied with a smile.
"What you got for me?" Drew asked.
"I got physical evidence from the alphabet killer." Chadwick replied as he handed her the cloth.
"Again?" Drew questioned.
"Yes. But this time is different." Chadwick answered.
"How?" Drew questioned with folded arms.
"Because I'm gonna get him this time." Chadwick firmly replied.
"Whatever you say. I'll be in the back. Give me a few minutes." Drew said.

As Chadwick waited on Drew at her office; Drew made an interesting discovery. She walked into her office and asked,

"Chad...where did you get this evidence?"
"My car." Chadwick answered.
"Oh...okay. I think you've given me a tainted sample." Drew mentioned.
"What you talking about? It's not tainted." Chadwick asked.
"Chad...the reason I think this is tainted is because the dna match yours." Drew unsurely explained.
"What...nah. I think you should do it again." Chadwick suggested in disbelief.

Drew did it again and results was the same. Chadwick got frustrated with Drew and left. As Chadwick drove, he wasn't sure what to think of what Drew told him. He checked his watch for the time. He gripped the steering wheel as he contemplated over his next move. He went to an assisted living home; where his mother, Georgia lived.

The nurse complained about Chadwick stopping by after visiting hours. After he begged to see Georgia; they informed him this would be the last time he could do this. He slowly entered the room and called out to her.  Georgia approached Chadwick and said,

"I knew you would come back to me, Teddy."
"No, mama, it's me...Chadwick. Your son."

Georgia smiled.

"I know that. You're such a good boy for coming to see me. Unlike your brother, Nick." Georgia said and broke eye contact.
"Brother? Mama... I'm an only child. Right?" Chadwick questioned.
"There you go again, Teddy. We promised not to tell." Georgia complained.

Chadwick paused before he gave a response. Usually, he would get into endless arguments with attempting to correct her Alzheimer's symptoms. But this time, he decided to play along. And just maybe, he'll find out what she really meant.

"I know we promised. But now I think is the time to tell Chadwick about this. What are you gonna tell him?" Chadwick pleaded as he stared into her eyes and held her cold hands.
"Uhmm...your father and I...haven't been truthful with you. We love you. And only wants what's best for you. When I was pregnant with you, we was so happy. But later, I found out we were having twins. Being poor was hard enough. For us to have two babies to take care of, we thought this would only make life harder. We had the other baby adopted. Do you think he'll understand?" Georgia explained.

Chadwick's head felt like it was spinning. He cleared his throat as he swallowed his feelings hard.

"Yeah...he'll understand. I'll make sure of that. I have to go. I love you." Chadwick struggled to say as he hugged her.

Chadwick ran out of the building and vomited in a bush; near his car. Once he gathered himself, he was even more determined to find Nick.

While Chadwick was driving, an bridge incident was announced over the intercom radio. He checked his watch and saw he had an hour left. He had a gut feeling that Nick was apart of it. He raced to the bridge and found himself at the end of a traffic jam. He left his car and ran in between many other cars. He quickly advised other drivers to stay in their vehicles. There was a standoff with police in the center of the bridge. And as suspected, the alphabet killer was in the middle of it all.

"There he is! I knew you would come!" Nick sarcastically yelled.
"Stand down!" Chadwick demanded towards the police.

Some police officers lowered their guns.

"Nick! I know who you are now! Because you know me." Chadwick said as he caught his breath.

Nick slowly clapped his hands and removed his mask. For Chadwick to see his facial features on the head of the killer made his stomach cringe. Chadwick attempted to approach Nick. But Nick quickly stepped back; and leaned against the railing.

"Hey, okay, okay. I'm not gonna hurt you. I just want to talk." Chadwick said as he stopped in his tracks and removed his gun from his waist.
"What can I tell you, that you don't already know?" Nick questioned.
"Why are you doing this? Why all the murders?" Chadwick pleaded.
"That so called bitch of a mother is the reason for all of this! She abandoned me! She created this!" Nick shouted in raged.
"She didn't abandon you. You were adopted! I never knew until now. You're not the only one whose been lied to." Chadwick argued.
"She lied about everything!! I WAS LEFT IN A PARKING LOT! Cops found me! Sherman put me in the foster care system!! It's been hell since!!" Nick shouted with teary eyes.
"No...no! YOU KILLED MY FATHER!" Chadwick shouted in disbelief.
"I had no choice! Your father was gonna kill me when he recognized me! He was ashamed of me! I DIDNT DO SHIT BUT PROTECT MYSELF!" Nick shouted and sat on the railing.
"Hey! Come down from there...we can fix this. Clearly, we've both been lied to. Let's end this now. Put your hands on your head." Chadwick ordered.

With half a smirk on his face, Nick's left hand slowly moved behind his back.

"No! Don't do it! Put your hands up now!" Chadwick warned.

(Slow motion) Nick reached out from his lower back and pulled out a gun. Chadwick quickly took out a spare gun from his ankle and fired five shots into Nick's chest and core. Nick fell backwards off the railing; into the river. (End slow motion)

Chadwick ran to the railing and looked down as he witnessed a huge splash. He dropped his head in failure. Sherman approached Chadwick and congratulated him. Chadwick lowered his eyes in a suspicious manner.

"Congratulations for what? For being your fool?" Chadwick replied and walked away.

Sherman followed Chadwick and asked,

"What are you talking about, man? You're a hero."

Chadwick stood face to face with Sherman and said,

"You lied to me about the alphabet killer. You knew all along it was Nick. You knew I was related to him. You set my father up to take that call; knowing Nick was armed!" Chadwick growled.
"I did what was needed to be done. These decisions are never easy to make. You know that. You're like a son to me." Sherman expressed.
"Fuck you. I quit." Chadwick said and threw his badge in the river.

Chadwick walked away as he shook his head. Everything he thought to be true, wasn't. He walked back to his car and drove to a safe house.

"Chad, what's wrong? Did you arrest him?" Sierra asked.
"How do you feel about a new beginning?" Chadwick asked with a smile.
"I'm here for it." Sierra answered and kissed his lips.
