Chadwick is new on a college campus scene. Struggling to fit in with others, he finds common grounds with a crew of young men.

Author's POV: Chadwick sat on the passenger side; staring out the window as his mother; Carlyn drove to their new home. He thoughtlessly looked upon the withered red and yellow trees of Independence, Oregon. Just a few miles from Salem.
"Chad?" Carlyn said and glanced at him. "Yeah?" Chad replied in a low voice and glanced at Carlyn. "I know you didn't want to move so far away from Brooklyn. But I think this move will be good for both of us." Carlyn expressed. "You don't have to say anything else. I know I was getting into trouble back home. And you got a great job out here." Chadwick plainly replied. "I'm saying this because I really need you to do your part in order for this to work. You understand?" Carlyn said. "I'll act right. I'm sorry mama." Chadwick apologized. "Don't be sorry. Be better." Carlyn replied. "Yes ma'am." Chadwick said and continued to look out the window.
Once they arrived to their new home, they unpacked everything. By nightfall, all the furniture was in place. Chadwick and Carlyn was exhausted. The next week, was the first day of college at Western Oregon University.
After Carlyn dropped Chadwick off on campus; He unsurely looked around at the large crowd of students. Chadwick looked at his schedule more than in front of him.
"Where is my damn class?" Chadwick frustratingly said as he looked up and bumped into another student.
Chadwick stumbled and fell backwards. The male student frowned at Chadwick. Chadwick stood up and apologized.
"Dont trip about it. Get it?" The student jokingly said and chuckled. "Yeah, I get it. I need some help. Can help me? It's my first day here. And I'm lost." Chadwick asked. "I can tell. Let me see your schedule." The student said with his hand out.
Chadwick handed the man his schedule.
"Oh, cool. We got the same class. I'm headed there now. By the way, I'm Bobby." "Chadwick." "Okay...Chadwick." Bobby mocked Chadwick and shook his hand.
