Moving!!??

Lucas
I was excited that Spring break was finally here. I walked outside and smelled spring rain as it sprinkled down my face. I looked at my friends and smiled. I was lucky to have met them, especially Riley.

My mind went back to the event where I met Riley for the first time. I was glad I met Riley.

"So, what do you want to do Lucas?" Riley asked looking into my eyes. I stood there putting my hand on my chin and started to think. "Maybe all four of us can go to the beach in California?" I said smiling.

"WHAT!! HOW WOULD WE GET TO CALIFORNIA?" All three of them said in unison. "We're going to fly!" I said picking up Riley and raised her in the air.
"When do we leave?" Maya said. "Let's leave tomorrow? And we should meet up at my house and all four of us can go to the airport together." I said.

"Sounds great!" Farkle said smiling.

I said goodbye to my friends and headed home. My mom greeted me with a warm smile and hugged me tightly. "Mom, what's with you?" I asked suspiciously. Mom took her arms off of me and just stared at me.

"Honey, I think it's best if we sit down and talk." She said pointing to the chair. I gave my mom a worried look and sat down on a creamy looking chair. Mom went to the kitchen and came out with two hot chocolate's in her hands. "Mom, what's going on?" I said. Mom just sat there drinking her hot chocolate.

"Honey, we're moving to another state." She finally said. "Mom, why are we moving to another state? And what state are we going to?" I said. I can't believe we're moving to another state when I had a perfectly good life here in New York.

"Well, we're going to Hawaii tomorrow and I got a job there, but the good news is that we're only there for three years." She said. All this information has given me a headache. I got up from the chair and grabbed myself a cup of water. How would I break this news to Riley and my friends? I wondered to myself.

Riley
I can't believe we're going to California for Spring break!! I said to myself. What could I wear? What should I bring!!?? Oh this is going to be the best spring break ever.

I grabbed my suitcase and started to plow all my clothes in there. My suitcase wasn't that big, but it was a regular looking kind of suitcase. I really enjoy having to pack small and being able to fit everything in my suitcase.

I heard a knock on the door and opened it.

"Honey, do you need help packing?" My mom said coming in. I truly do love my mom. Whenever I am hurt or need counseling my mom is always there helping me or supporting me.

"No, I'm fine. Thanks though mother." I said smiling. I finished packing all of my things and called Maya.

~CELL PHONE~

Me: Maya! Hey! Want to come over for a sleepover? Bring your suitcase too!
Maya: Sure! I'll be there in five minuets.
Me: Okay! See you soon!

~PRESENT~

As I was waiting for Maya, I decided to read "The Fault In Our Stars". I've read this book more than one times and it always makes me cry.

Maya
As I hung the phone up, I looked at my clothing choice and was having difficulty of what to bring to California. I want to look cute and romantic for Farkle.

It took me an hour to finally packed everything I got. I grabbed out my sleeping bag and my bag. I didn't want to pack anything heavy for my sleepover.

I packed my PJ's, clothes for the plane, and toothbrush.

I finally got to Riley's apartment and saw her reading "The Fault In Our Stars". I really did enjoy the book. I cried when Gus died and Hazel loved him to death.

"Hey Riley, sorry for being late. It took me a long time to get my outfits together." I said. I looked at my best friend and she just smiled at me. "Its fine! I would've done the same thing too." She laughed. I decided to laugh with her.

I placed my stuff down in the living room and we both headed upstairs to talk.

"Should we invite the boys over?" I said eyeing my phone. I haven't gotten a single text from Farkle today which is making me nervous. "Yeah! Let's invite them." She said grabbing her phone. "Okay, I'll call Farkle and you call Hillbilly." I said pressing the call. Button.

Three rings later and Farkle answered.

"Hey! Want to come over here and have a sleepover with us? I'm at Riley's house." I said. I waited for at least one minuet for him to reply. "Sure! I'll be there in five minuets." He said hanging up. I wondered what's up with Farkle.

Farkle
After I hung up on Maya, I packed my things for the trip tomorrow and arrived at Riley's house.

"Hey guys, what are you up to?" I said smiling to them. Both of them just stared at me and shrugged their shoulder. I wonder what's bothering them.

"We're doing okay. You?" Riley said with a small smile. Okay, something weird is going on here. I need to figure out what's going on between these two.

Twenty minuets later Lucas came into the room and he doesn't show any face expression. Instead of flirty Lucas, it's sad Lucas.

I know it's none of my business, but I had to talk to him. "Lucas can we have a talk alone?" I said pointing downstairs. He nodded his head and we headed downstairs.

"Lucas what's going on?" I said in my whispering tone. Lucas looked down and finally he spoke. "Don't tell the girls this, but I'm moving to Hawaii for three years and I wont be coming back here." He said in a hush tone.

I can't believe he's moving to Hawaii for three years! I really wanted to tell Riley and Maya about this news, but I need to keep the promise.

Lucas and I headed back up and all four of us decided to go out for pizza. We went to a five star restraunt that served the best pizza in New York.

Riley and Maya kept talking about how excited they are to go to California and Lucas just kept nodding his head in agreement. I really feel bad for Lucas because he's moving to another state and leaving us for three years.

Riley
I couldn't help, but to notice that Lucas hasn't been talking throughout our conversations about California. I decided to talk to him alone.

"Lucas can we talk alone, please?" I said standing up. He nodded his head and smiled at me. We both headed outside and started walking towards the park bench.

"Lucas, are you feeling okay?" I said eyeing him up and down. He just stared at me and smiled brightly. "Yes, I'm fine. I'm just thinking of what we should do together in California." He said taking my hands.

We kept on talking and laughing and started to head back into the restraunt to eat. I was so glad we're going to California together. I smiled at the thought.

~MONDAY~

Lucas
I needed to make an excuse. Maybe I should call a Riley that I am sick or should I tell her I twisted my ankle.

"Go for calling in sick that you have a flu."

"Your right, I should call in sick." I said to my brain and grabbed my phone.

~CELL PHONE~

Me: Riley, I got the flu.
Riley: Oh no, what happened?
Me: I got the flu from my mom. We need to cancel our trip tomorrow.
Riley: Oh, I hope you feel better and don't worry about the trip, we can still hang out together.

When she said those three words....it brings me pain in my chest. I had to leave a very important person.

Me: I better hang up, my mom is bringing me soup. I love you.
Riley: I love you too.

Those three words made me smile, but made me feel pain. I hung up the phone and sighed as the flight attendance said boarding all passengers for Hawaii. I sighed and lined up at gate 35C.

I was in group A and started to head into the airplane. I sat down near the window and slept.
