Birthday ball

We both walked up to his house and I tried to put on my best smile. Three minuets later, his mom answered the door.

"Hello Brandon!! My darling." She said hugging him. I looked at both of them and I can definitely see the resemblance. She had black hair, and the mischievous smile of his.

"My! Who is his lovely lady in your arms Brandon!!? She said ecstatically as she pulled us inside. "This lady happens to be Riley." He said grabbing my hand. I didn't budge at all, but smiled.

"Hi honey, please call me Evelyn." She said clapping her hands. "It's a pleasure to meet you Evelyn." I said shaking her hand. She looked like she hadn't aged a bit. Even though she looks like she could be in her 50's, but looks so much in the 40's.

I looked around the house and I was amazed. His mansion was so huge, we could have a ball. The mansion had a lot of mirrors and cultural stuff, which I enjoy. "Kids, I'm making spaghetti right now, but please make yourself comfortable Riley." She said walking to the kitchen.

I thanked her and walked around the house. "Would you like me to give you a tour?" Brandon said chuckling. I looked at him and nodded my head repeatedly with a smile on my face.

We walked up the marble staircase and the hallway was huge. "Wow Brandon, your house is amazing!" I said hugging him. I was about to lean in, when his mother called us.

"Kids! Dinner is ready, please come on down." She said yelling up. "We're coming mother!!" He said putting his arm around my waist. We both walked down the marble staircase and went into the kitchen.

I was amazed at how his kitchen looks so clean. I observed the place, and couldn't find a speck of dust on any of these cabinet. As we were about to sit down, we heard a door opening.

"Honey! I'm home." He said in a dad tone. I wondered if that's his dad. "Hey honey! We're in the kitchen." Evelyn said placing everything on the table. The dad walked in and stared at me. "Who may this lovely girl be?" He said facing Brandon.

I smiled a little to myself. "Her name is Riley. Riley meet my dad Tom." He said gesturing towards me. "Nice to meet you Riley." He said smiling at me. "Nice meeting you too sir." I said smiling. "Please, call me Tom." He said smiling back.

Everyone was now at the table and we kept on talking. Some of the question they asked me, I wasn't quite sure how to answer them. "So Riley, what school do you go to?" Evelyn said wiping her mouth with a napkin. I froze and tried to think hard.

"Where does Brandon go?" I said trying to change the topic. "I go to Riverdale." Brandon said taking sips of his water. I tried to think real hard, but my mind is blank. I'll have to pretend I went to Riverdale.

"Same here Brandon!" I said acting surprised. "Really? How come we've never met?" He said. "I don't know, I just guessed we never met." I said shrugging my shoulder.

Right before they was going to talk to me some more, my phone started to buzz. I unlocked it and gotten a notification.

"What's your phone saying Riley? If you don't mind me asking." Brandon said eating his spaghetti. "Not at all. Well, it says here that my birthday is next week(Sarurday), and I'll be turning 14." I said getting off of it. The parents looked at eatchother and smirked.

"Riley, since you know Brandon, we were thinking we can have the party here." Both said in unison. I looked at Brandon and gave him a worried look. "It's fine, I don't want to be a burden to you guys." I said taking bites of my garlic bread. "Oh honey, don't stress about it. We will call it a "Birthday Ball" and we can have a lot of guests there. Plus we'll invite all of the Riverdale kids." Evelyn said smiling at me.
