In the waiting room, Danaav hugs my siblings tightly while they weep. I sat by Violet on a bench, leaning my head on her shoulder with her hand rubbing my arm up and down in an attempt to comfort me. Honestly, I'd rather be nowhere near him, even now. I'd rather be in the arms of the one person I can't stand. The one person I can't stand, yet I still want to be around constantly.

"How?..." I managed to croak out through my anxious sobs.

"Hm?", Violet looks at me, her face full of concern. It's a lot more comforting than the expression she'd given m on the field earlier. Maybe she was more of a knight in shining armor rather than a spoiled, bougie princess.

I sniffled. "I don't understand why anyone would want to hurt her. She's just a sweet lady. No prejudice towards any community, makes decent money, no beef with anyone. How is it every time we move, something always happens to my family?"

Violet sighs and hugs me tightly. "It'll be okay..." I melted in her embrace. As much as I wanted to hate the person holding me, I couldn't for some reason.

I suddenly feel hear hug stiffen. I pull away to see her face pale as a ghost. I thought she was white enough already, but she looks like she lost all the blood in her face. I turn around to look at what she's looking at. Danaav had walked outside, and he was giving money to a young man who had a black hoodie on.

"You okay?" I asked her.

No response.

After a minute or two, she distanced herself. She looked at me with sorrow. "We have to get out of here, now. Or well I know I do. I can't risk you getting hurt too, Jones," Violet said frantically.

"Slow your roll. What the hell is going on?"

"I can't explain right now. I'll text you later I have to go!" She got up and practically bolted out the door.

What's up with her?
