BEEP BEEP BEEP!
I smack my alarm. "Ughhhh.... five more minutes..."
"Get up Pheonix!" My mom is standing over me.
I let out a groan. "Mommmmaaaa..."
"Young lady, if your father finds out that you skipped your first day, he'll have my head, and you know how much of a pain he can be over education. So get your ass up, and get ready for your first day of school."
I sit up upon my bed and look at the 36-year-old woman. "All he does is pay child support. Why does he worry so much about my grades if he doesn't even try coming to one of my football games? He is the whole reason we move around so much. Why should I care anymore?" I ask defeatedly.
She sighs and brings me in for a hug. "You know how misogynistic he can be. He grew up in India. He doesn't approve of women playing sports. If it were up to him, he'd have you married off by now. Besides, this is a new school, a new side of town, so I want you and your siblings to give it a chance. And your father too... Okay?" She lets go and looks me in the eye, wanting me to understand.
"Fine... But I'm not giving him a chance until he grants us one." I get out of my twin bed and stretch.
"Do you want me to get Hestia and Apollo up?"
"Please... I've tried everything. They just keep snoring. You're the easiest triplet to wake up, and that's saying something." I laugh and roll my eyes. I'm glad I don't share a room with them this time.
5 minutes later...
I walk down the hall and take a left to my siblings' bedroom. I chuckle evilly as I walk over to Apollo's bunk bed, with a bowl of water in my hand. I stick my brother's hand in the bowl of water and watch as he wets himself. I hold back a laugh as I remove the water bowl and hide it.
"Apollo! उठो!* Time for school!"
He groans.
"Dude, did you piss yourself?"
He bolts up. "Wait what?!"
He looks down at the blanket. "What the hell?!"
I can't hold it in anymore. I burst out laughing and snorting.
Luckily, this wakes Hestia up. "Can you keep it down, Ms. Piggy?" she says sneeringly. "I'm trying to sleep..."
"Uh, no, Mom told me to wake you two up, we have school. So, Apollo, I'd hit the showers, and Tia, go get ready."
45 minutes later...
After we eat and get dressed, we leave the apartment on our skateboards. Eventually, we get to where we can at least see the school from the sidewalk, but the quickest way there is to cross the street. There's also a lot of traffic...
"Ughh... Do we have to cut through?" Hestia groans vexedly.
"I'm not getting ran over; I'd rather be late!" Apollo says frantically.
"Quit being babies, you two," I say as I begin to skate through traffic.
"Phoen- oh whatever," Hestia says as she skates after me, Apollo following close behind.
Next thing I know, before we get to the other side, a limousine beeps at me multiple times as they hit their breaks.
"HEY, DIPSHITS!! TAKE ANOTHER ROUTE WOULD YA?!" I hear a girl yell from behind me. Assuming it was from the limousine, I fire back with "DON'T RIDE ON MY TURF, PRINCESS!!!"
I turn around, and we lock eyes. Time slowed down, and everything around me didn't matter at that moment. All I saw right then was her. She had golden blonde hair, fair skin, and deep blue eyes that reminded me of the sparkling sea, and fucking dimples! Holy shit, the whiny princess is actually kind of hot.
"Phi let's go! We're gonna be late," Apollo says, snapping me back into reality.
"Yeah, sorry, guys. Let's go."
We start heading toward the school again, and all I can think about is that annoying ass dutchess.
Maybe I'll give this side of town a chance...
