*Monty's POV*

I was making a pot of coffee when Alyssa stumbled sleepily down the stairs. 

"Babe what are you doing?" She asked yawning and rubbing her eyes
"Making you some coffee, do you feel any better?"

She yawned again and sat on one of the stools at the bar. I handed her a fresh cup of coffee. She took a sip and said "yea, as good as i can be i guess." She rubbed her fingers around the rim of the cup. "Monty how are we gonna do this?" She asked. I sighed and leaned down on the counter propping myself up with my elbows, "we will figure it out babygirl together" I took her hand and rubbed the back of it. She smiled and took another drink. We were silent for a minute when the doorbell rang. 

"everyone is here" I said, she started to look really nervous "it'll be ok i promise" She smiled and made her way to the couch with her coffee. I watched her curl up on the end covering herself with a blanket

I answered the door and everyone was standing there 

"HEY!" We all said in unison. 

"Where's Alyssa?" Jess asked walking in the door. 

"She's in the living room on the couch" I pointed to the living room. Jess raced to her 

"Hey bae!" Alyssa lit up seeing her best friend " How are you?" They hugged each other

"i'm ok, just tired." Jess narrowed her eyes at her 

"Are you sure? you look different." Alyssa looked up at me 

"yea Jess im fine, cross my heart" 

"ok," Jess said sitting back on the couch,

"Where is the beer man?" Justin asked me as we made our way to the dinning area where all the food was

"Yea man where's the drinks?" Bryce said 

"We're not having beer tonight." i answered while i was making Alyssa a plate. They just frowned at me 

"Um ok" Justin said confused.

"This is a family get together ok" I said

"Never knew a family get together without beer" Bryce joked. We all laughed,  

I made my way to the living room and handed Alyssa her plate, i knew she was afraid to eat, but she had to

"Thank you baby" Alyssa said smiling taking the plate from me. 

"You're welcome, do you want a drink?" I asked her

"Dr pepper please" She said while eating a roll. 

Jess looked at her surprised and smiled. 

"how did you get Montgomery De la Cruz to be this sweet?" She asked her

"He's always been sweet i just had to harass him to get it out of him" We all laughed at Alyssa's comment. 

We all sat and talked, laughing. I watched Alyssa smile, she was glowing.  I stood up in the front of the room. 

"ATTENTION!" I yelled and everyone got quiet looking at me. 

I held out my hand for Alyssa to take it. She took it and I pulled her onto my lap as i sat on the arm of my Recliner, she knew what was coming. She took over from there

"We called you guys here tonight for this little get together, because Monty and I have an announcement to make." She reached behind us and grabbed a card off the table. " I wrote it down on this card, I would like for my very first best friend, my brother Justin to read it out loud."
