Alec let out a painful grunt, his knees hitting the ground. One second they were in the Clave, the other one... He opened his eyes, after realizing he had closed them while going through the Portal and looked around.

They were in a grassy field, woods surrounding it. Alec suddenly heard a whimper. He looked down, remembering Magnus was there. Weak and hurt.

The warlock was lying there, almost unconscious judging by the way he was tiredly blinking. Alec almost burst into tears when he saw how pale he was. Magnus' usually tanned skin was now almost white.

He moved closer to him, the pain he felt because of moving his leg nothing compared to how worried he was. Alec moved Magnus up, so he could have his body resting against his; the Shadowhunter didn't want to risk Magnus getting an infection because he was lying on the ground with open wounds all over his body.

"M-Ma-Magnus, h-h-hey, n-no, p-p-plea-please, d-don't d-die..." Alec whispered, with trembling hands trying to stop any wound he saw Magnus had, from bleeding any more.

The warlock seemed to wake up a little, hearing Alec. He moved a hand and snapped his fingers. All of a sudden, Chairman appeared next to them and Magnus had what probably was the worst wound, bandaged. He had been stabbed on his shoulder deeply, it seemed like the worst wound he had, because of how much it bled. Alec looked down at his own leg and saw he had it bandaged too.

He looked back at the cat and heard Magnus wincing in pain, after having used his magic. He moved his gaze back to the Asian man trying to stay awake, alarmed, "D-Don't u-use your m-magic! M-Magnus, Magnus, Mag-Magnus, p-plea-please..." He couldn't hold back the tears anymore, the thought that Magnus could be dying, bringing him to the edge. "P-P-Please d-d-don-don't l-lea-leave m-m-me..."

Magnus forced a weak smile, trying to look at the Shadowhunter, his sight getting blurrier by seconds.

"'s fine..." He whispered. Hadn't they been alone, Alec wouldn't have heard him. "'ll- okay..." Magnus not even being able to talk brought more tears to the crying man's blue eyes. Was he dying? No, no, no, Magnus couldn't die.

He watched Magnus close his eyes and... Pass out? Pass away? It didn't matter, because Alec started sobbing, unable to believe there was a chance Magnus might never wake up again.

"N-No-No, n-no, w-w-why-..." Alec tried to talk between sobs, Chairman sitting next to him, his small golden eyes fixed on his owner. He felt his heart getting smaller, breath shortening. Was Magnus really dead? Alec didn't want to know, scared of the truth.

Why had everything have to go wrong? What had they done wrong to end up like that? Everything, Alec thought. They had broken into the Clave without any plan or barely any good idea of what they were exactly doing there.

Now Magnus was paying the price of their stupidity. He was injured, probably dead and it was all Alec's fault. He should've told Magnus the truth he had been too scared to say, while they had been searching for the meetings room, in the Clave.

Truth was, Alec had known all along where they had been and, if he had been brave enough to tell Magnus he knew where they were, and how to get to the room they were searching, maybe things would've gone differently. Maybe they would've rescued everyone and Magnus would still be alive.

Alec looked down at Magnus, unable to stop crying. He was pretty sure they were in a safe place, (Magnus was smart enough to not use his last bit of strength, to portal them to a dangerous place) so it probably didn't matter if he stayed there, crying over the Asian warlock.

"Th-The-There's n-no p-p-point i-in m-my-my l-life if-if you're n-not h-here." He whispered, letting his head fall to Magnus' stomach, his eyes closed. He was sobbing quietly, holding the warlock in his arms tightly. He didn't feel his injured leg. He wasn't sure if that was a good or a bad thing. The bandage had only stopped some of the bleeding but it still hurt.
