Ever since Bucky had moved into the tower, he had been sad. Something was just different or maybe people were starting to notice more because they saw him on a regular basis now. He barely talked to anyone, even Steve. He really wasnt okay. And the Avengers knew that. It brought Steve down and pretty much everyone else. They hated seeing him like that, he wouldnt even go on missions.

Y/n had a broken collarbone so she had to stay behind in the tower hoping her family would be alright on their mission. She sat on the couch, watching netflix, supernatural. The mission was at least a two-three day trip, estimated. It was lightly thunder-storming outside, making it the perfect night to binge watch netflix. Bucky had no idea he wasnt the only one in the tower, so he went out to get some food.

He heard the tv sound but didnt notice the girl with a sling laying on the sofa until he turned around to go back to his room.
"Hi Bucky." She said, which surprised him that she only said that. He would expect to hear how are you or are you okay. Bucky decided he couldnt be like this anymore, everyone makes mistakes and technically all of his, werent his fault.

He walked into the living room and sat down a few cushions away from Y/n. He didnt know what happened to cause her broken collarbone, didnt even know she broke something. He hadnt really seen her like up close before, like enough to see that she had freckles and long eyelashes.
"What happened to your arm?" He asked quietly causing her to turn her head to look at him.
"Loki shoved me down a huge flight of stairs. It's mainly my collarbone but my arm did get sprained."
"Whyd he do that?"
"Cause he's an asshole and we were messing around. He got in trouble with Thor though." She shrugged.

He nodded and it was her turn to ask her question.
"Have youve been okay Buck?" He swallowed a bite of his cereal. He was silent, didnt respond.
"Yeah."
"Thats a big fatass lie." She didn't believe him for a minute. She turned her full body to him, pausing supernatural.
"You can talk to me you know? I know we dont know each other well even to trust each other." Bucky let it all loose, he didnt know why he did. She just made him talk to her with her sweetness.

"I regret every kill of good people." He stated, staring at the coffee table. She furrowed her eyebrows,
"Bucky, that wasnt your fault. Hydra made you do all that stuff. You cant hold yourself guilty of that, the past is the past Bucky." The advice made him think and be more silent. She watched as she noticed he was biting his lip nervously, she grabbed his left hand.
"Listen to me bucky, it'll be okay Im positive. Im sorry for everything you went through but you cant change the past and everything happens for a reason you know? You just got to know that everything youve been through has lead you up to this point right now - sitting beside me. You're a better man now." She smiled and he looked up from the coffee table to look at her as she gently rubbed his metal arm.

"Do you ever wish you werent born so that everything bad in your life wouldnt happen?" Bucky asked. She shook her head,
"No because we were born for a reason Buck. You- to be an amazing solider and later an avenger known as the good winter solider. To be a good friend to me or steve, to put good out into the world because it really needs it. You're good enough okay?" Y/n opened his eyes to so many things at once.

"theres always a rainbow hanging over your head. After every storm comes a rainbow right?" She said sweetly while rubbing his shoulder. He lightly shook his head.
"Let go of your umbrella because it's not storming anymore. Theres a double rainbow waiting for you to see." She exclaimed, Bucky had never met someone with so much advice, good advice that actually made sense and made him think. She was so positive, even in sad times like this one. He felt so lonely, than ever before and he was the one that had isolated himself.

"You're gonna do amazing things Buck, just like you were born to do." She smiled and patted the back of his shoulder.
"How do you know all of this?" Bucky questioned, making eye contact with her.
"Some from experience and some I just know I guess, what I believe in. I say the things to people that I wouldve liked to hear if I was down or whatnot you know?" He nodded as she turned back to Supernatural which he sat there and watched with her.

Bucky sat on the concrete bench, head in his hands in front of her tombstone. She had died a hero, shortly after her collarbone healed she was stabbed numerous times. The funny part is not on a mission or by the avengers enemies, it was a psycho killer who caught her in a alley and decided she just had to go. But she fought for her life. No matter the way an Avenger dies, they were always labeled a hero.

When Bucky found out she was in critical condition at the hospital, he tracked that psycho down and tortured him to death. She was the one that kept Bucky company, made him feel like he was good enough and was meant for something.

"I miss you doll, I really do." He said, raising his head up to look at her tombstone, he had brought her a dozen of her favorite flowers like he did every week. When he read her tombstone for the millionth time, he noticed the sky. The grey clouds had cleared from the rain, two bright big rainbows filled the sky in front of him. Bucky was amazed, and knew it was a sign from Y/n and he smiled at that as he stood up and stared at the beautiful sky in awe. The brightest rainbows hed ever seen.

"You still amaze me even though you're gone." Tears silently raced down his cheeks as he lost himself in the rainbow and tears.
