Nightwing x Zatanna

Chapter 23~ Fireworks

It was getting closer to the firework display in Bludhaven, which the youngest Grayson was excited for.

After a week or two of asking his parents, they finally said yes. It was the day that they were going to see the fireworks.

The air was chilly and frost had formed over every surface. The small family was wrapped up in their winter coasts with winter boots. They all wore scarfs and gloves but Andy wore a hat as well, while Zatanna wore ear muffs.

They walked down to the park about ten minutes from their home, where there was a large open grass area.

"Daddy I can't see!" Andy looked up.

Dick picked up his son and put him on his shoulders, "It hasn't even started yet, buddy."

Zee looked at them and smiled softly. As she did, it started snowing lightly.

Andrew grinned and reached for the snowflakes, "Look mummy it's snowing!"

Zatanna nodded and held her husband's hand, who looked at her before leaning down and giving her a soft kiss.

"Daddy!" Andy held onto his father.

"Oops sorry Andy," Dick stood up straight.

"I'll go and get us some drinks," the older male's wife said as she went to the café nearby.

"Hurry up mama" Andrew was getting really excited.

She came back after a few minutes with a hot chocolate for her and her son as well as a coffee for her husband because he was going patrolling that night.

"Don't spill it on daddy, Andy" Zatanna gave their son his drink then her husband his.

The small family drank their drinks  and finished them just before the fireworks started.

Andy watched in amazement at the flashing colours and shapes and even superhero logos. The boy yelled out each superhero. He whispered when he saw his family's superhero logos.

After the display the Grayson son was tired and yawned.

Richard held Andrew in his arms and carried him back home with Zatanna.

The family got home and put their son to bed. Andrew hugged his parents and climbed into his bed with his stuffed toys, after he changed into his pyjamas.  The parent smiled and kissed their son's head before they went downstairs together.

The couple cuddled up on the couch and watched some TV before going to bed themselves.

Zee watched her husband change into his pyjamas as she changed quickly into hers. Dick smiled and climbed into bed with his wife, pulling her close to his chest. Zatanna rested her head and hands on Richard's chest falling asleep.

Dick went on patrol after an hour of sleep and came back later at night, changing back into his pajamas and falling asleep next to Zatanna.

I hope you liked it. I realised I could have done a Halloween one last month but I didn't have enough time to write on. Next month Christmas chapter!!
