I slowly start to regain my consciousness. I open my eyes. I try to sit up but then I feel sharp, horrible pain in my shoulder so I quickly lay back down. I groan from the pain. It's so bright in here and it smells like a hospital. Where am I? I look at my shoulder and see a bandage wrapped around it. I also notice that my uniform is gone and I'm in my underwear. What did they do with my uniform? I look over on my other side and see a blue uniform folded on a nightstand next to me. "H-Hello?" I say out loud. I'm not sure if anyone is in here. I can't get up and check. I look at my arm and see that I also have an IV in it.

I try my best to look around the room. I see more people in here with me, but they appear to be resting. The door suddenly opens and I see a nurse walk in. Not just any nurse, it's the Mortician. She's pushing a stretcher on what appears to be a body on it, hidden under a white sheet. She doesn't notice that I'm awake and walks passed me and into another room. I wish she did notice me because I have a lot of questions.

"Good morning, patients! I hope you are all hungry today. I sure am! Please be seated and in uniform while we bring you all your delicious plate of fried duck! Yummy!"

Oh. I'm missing breakfast, aren't I? I try to sit up again, but fail so I lay back down. It hurts too much to get up. Memories of last night start to flood in. I try to shake these thoughts away. I don't want to remember how I almost got eaten.

Jaxton...

Where is Jaxton? I miss him. I need him here. I hear the Mortician exit a room. "Hello?" I call out again. She walks over and peeks behind the curtain. "Ah, you're awake. My name is Sister Annabelle. How do you feel?" She asks. "I'm in pain whenever I try to get up."

"I'll see if I can find some painkillers for you later. I'll go over what is happening to you first."

"Okay..."

"So, since your stitches are still fresh, you're staying here for a few days. After that, you're going to be prescribed some painkillers. Keep this on you at all costs. We have some druggies in this asylum. As of now, just rest a bit. I will have a nurse bring you some food and water."

"Okay."

She smiles and turns away. "Wait." She turns back to me. "Yes?"

"Can I have visitors?"

"Depends. We can't have a whole party in here."

"No, I just want to see my boyfriend."

Her eyebrows raise in surprise, then she smiles. "Oh? Boyfriend, you say? What's his name?"

"Jaxton."

"Jaxton who?"

"He never really told me his last name, but he's like six feet tall, has muscles, pale skin, red head."

"Oh, I know who you're talking about! Jaxton Davis. I'll send him down after you have some food and medicine."

"Okay, thank you, Sister Annabelle."

She smiles at me and then pulls out her walkie talkie. "Sister Rochelle, you're a Nanny right? Well, could you please bring one of the patients some food and water in the Infirmary? I'm going to be busy with the bodies."

"Sure, Sister Annabelle!"

"Alrighty, thanks."

She puts her walkie talkie back in her belt and then leaves and goes inside another room. I can't believe I'm going to be stuck in here for a few days. That's super annoying...
