Bri: I got you
I say immediately hugging him.

I move us a bit more inside. Then close the door. I hold him until he's ready to talk.

Alvaro: He's dead Bri.
He says still hugging me.
Bri: It's ok bub.
I say tearing up.

Alvaro had mentioned to me and the boys that his grandpa was sick. This was a couple of weeks ago. Whenever he had a lot of anxiety about the situation, he would call me.

Alvaro: Why man ? Why does this have to happen ?
I hug him even tighter.
Bri: I'm here for you.
I drag him to the couch, and he places his head on my lap.
Alvaro: He always told me to put my faith in God. Look where that led me.
He's calmed down.
Alvaro: If god was such a miracle worker, why didn't he help him ?
I play with his hair.
Bri: Maybe his miracle was to take the pain your grandpa was feeling, away. The only way he could do that, was to let him go to a better place.
Alvaro: Maybe
Alvaro: Do you believe in God Bri ?
Bri: I do, but we have our differences.
He giggles.
Alvaro: What do you mean ?
Bri: You know how they say God does everything for a reason ?
Alvaro: Mhm
Bri: Sometimes I question that. What's the reason for giving me toxic parents. If anything it hurt me more than helped me.
Alvaro: Facts
Gianmarco walks in with red eyes.
Bri: Come here
I say opening my arms out while Alvaro is still laying on my lap.
Bri: Its ok Marco.
I can feel his tears, but I don't hear him cry.

He sits next to me, and lays his head on my shoulder. Alvaro is still the same way. We sit in silence for a bit.

Alvaro: Enough crying. Bri, how was your date ?
He asks looking up at me.
Gianmarco: You went on a date ?
He asks surprised as he picks his head up.
Bri: Yes and we don't need to talk about me right now. I'm more focused on you guys. Have you told the boys ?
Alvaro: No. You were the first one I called when we got home.
Gianmarco: I'm in too much pain to care.
Bri: Aww come here buddy.
I say hugging him.
Alvaro: Can you stay ?
Bri: Yes
I text Jay to let him know.
Bri: Where are y'all's parents ?
Gianmarco: Hospital
We sit there in silence.

Eventually, they fall asleep. I get up and decide to make them something to eat. I start to heat up noodles to make them sopa (this is basically a Spanish type of soup). As I add water to the noodles, Bryce texts me.

I leave him on read and finish making the sopa. As I finish making the soup, Alvaro walks in to the kitchen.

Alvaro: How did I know you were cooking ?
Bri: I just wanted to make you feel better.
Alvaro: Thank you.
He says hugging me.

I serve him a bowl and pass it to him. I sit next to him. I place my arm on the table and use it to keep up the weight of my head as I look at him.

Bri: When are you gonna tell the boys ?
Alvaro: I don't know yet.
He says as he eats.
Bri: Well you know we planned on hanging out with them tomorrow.
Alvaro: Shit I forgot about that. I don't think I'm gonna go.
Bri: It'll make you feel better.
I say, rubbing his back
Alvaro: I'll see
Bri: K, well I'm gonna go get your brother.

I walk to the living room to wake up Gianmarco. Of course he takes his sweet ass time to get up.
He makes me lift him off the couch. Once we're done eating, Alvaro says that he wants to sleep. We go to his room, and Gianmarco lays on his bed. Me and Alvaro lay on his. I just chill on my phone.

Alvaro: Hey Bri
Bri: Yeah
Alvaro: There's a fundraiser we're doing for the soccer team. It's a car wash. Can you volunteer ? It's gonna be so boring without you.
He says in a sleepy voice.
Bri: Is there gonna be girls in underwear and bras ?
Alvaro: I hope there is, but I don't think so.
Bri: For you I will.
Gianmarco: We don't need to go to a car wash to see naked girls. I have a magazine of them under my bed.
Bri: Gianmarco shut up
Alvaro: Gianmarco shut up
We say simultaneously.

It's the next day now. A little bit into the evening. This morning Alvaro posted a TikTok about his grandpa. We're currently at my house, so I can change. When I'm finished, we walk to Mattia's, where everyone is at.
