The four Gryffindor girls were sitting around a table in the common room. Alice, Luna, and Marlene were playing a card game while Lily was doing her potions homework off to the side. "You know, I'm not going to help you with this assignment. And the first quidditch game is tomorrow, so you know that you aren't going to get anything done" Lily said, ever the practical one.

Marlene rolled her eyes. "I work best under pressure, so I think I'll be fine. Thank you, mother"

"Bullocks" Luna whispered under her breath. She had just lost the hand.

Suddenly the four Gryffindor boys came bounding up to them. "Are you ready for my game tomorrow? Coming to support me, are you now ladies?" James said, having successfully made the team as Chaser.

Lily scoffed at James' ego. "Yes, but we're going to cheer on Gryffindor, not you."

"Ah, but he's sure to be the best chaser Gryffindor has ever seen! Just wait until he gets a new record!" Sirius said, clapping his best mate across the back.

"I'd wait until they actually play the game before making any proclamations, James" Alice said, putting down a hand that absolutely devastated Luna once again.

"I demand to never have to go after Alice ever again." Luna said. "This is, like, the fiftieth time she has hurt me"

Sirius leaned across the table. "What's the matter, Little Lupin? Losing at cards, are we?"

"Losing very badly at cards, matter of fact" Marlene replied.

Luna smacked Marlene's arm. "It's not my fault Alice is incredible at this. She must be cheating."

"Or you're just a sore loser. Merlin knows I had to deal with it plenty this summer" Remus replied.

"Wow. Disrespect from my own brother. From my friends. Guess it's true what they say. Love is dead." Luna mumbled.

It was Lily's turn to smack Luna's arm with her quill. "Be nice, Luna."

"Yeah, be nice, Luna." Remus said as Luna stuck her tongue out at him. "Anyways, Peter, Sirius, and I are going to head to the game right after lunch tomorrow. Do you want to join us?"

"Sure, that'd be great!" Alice replied. "Now if you'll excuse us, it's time to watch all the life drain out of Luna's eyes once more."

"Alice, I do not enjoy this competitive side of you." Luna replied.

"And no one enjoys the competitive side of you, Luna" Remus replied. "We'll see you all tomorrow" He turned away with Peter and James following before his sister lost her mind at cards.

"Toodaloo, Gryffindor crew!" Sirius, blowing the girls a kiss.

"Insufferable twat" Luna murmured.

Alice laughed. "I'd focus more on the game than Sirius, Luna. You're about fifteen pieces of chocolate down right now and not in a very good position."

Not being able to afford to lose any more of her precious chocolate stores, Luna pushed the boys out of her mind to focus on the game at hand.

---

Marlene, Lily, and Alice had gone to lunch early while Luna had went back to the Charms classroom to grab her sweater before the game. They felt confident leaving her alone since she had her map that she created last year which had significantly reduced the number of times Luna was late to class.

On her way back to the Great Hall, Luna ran into Sirius Black. "What you got there, Little Lupin?"

She held the parchment close to her chest. "Mind your business, Black."
