'Welcome to Diagon Alley'
________________________________Before I could say yes, Hagrid scooted past me and through the doorway almost knocking me over due to his large figure, but I manged to catch myself before falling to the ground. I shot an agitated look to no one in particular and brushed down my jeans while straightening out my top.
The bushy-haired man was now looking around at the small room in awe. He had never seen any room look so ordinary but abnormal at the same time. There were spell books, daggers and wooden steaks scattered around the space in glass cases. Crossbows, magical talismans, old photographs and strange jewellery placed on wooden bookcases and shelves all around.
I guess this is what it is like being the headmistress at a school for dangerous supernatural creatures.
The huge man was still darting his eyes to every corner in the room, inspecting its condition and the placement of odd objects but was snapped out of his trance with a loud thump on the roof.
He had bashed his head against a low, wooden post and was now rubbing his large hand across the mild injury while combing through a tangled mess in order to feel a lump.
I couldn't help but let out a supressed laugh although, when I looked over to the blonde at the other end of the room, I was met with a stern gaze.
Oops.
Focusing back on the giant, he was doing a kind of waddle over to a black couch.
Soon after, Hagrid took a seat and I was surprised it didn't break in half.
Because of his tall stature, he still towered over me, even when he was sitting down. Everything was so tiny compared to him; even Caroline looked like a mouse in contrast.
In her usual, polite manor, Caroline lifted herself from the spinning chair she was previously perched in and made her way over to Hagrid. She reached her hand out and he gladly shook it gently.
For such an enormous man, surprisingly, he had a gentle touch.
"Hagrid, its lovely to see you again. We weren't expecting you to get here for another weak. What do you need?"
"Oh it aint me that needs anyfin, it's Irina here. You dont think she can get all her school stuff in a muggle shop now do ya. Nah, I'll be takin 'er to Diagon Alley. Oh and er, before I forget, the start of term has been moved up closer so she has to get to on the train tomorra".
"Oh ok. Irina I am really sorry this is such short notice, but you need to get your school supplies today and head off. You should probably go say goodbye to your friends and pack your things."
Caroline looked at the me with sunken shoulders and gave a sympathetic smile just before pulling my body into a tight embrace.
She doesn't actually expect me to go this early does she? For gods sake!
I felt the her edge closer to me, if that was even possible, and whisper something in my ear,
"I promise, you will have a better life there. I guarantee it."
She let go of me and walked back to her desk and let us go.
Before I could even argue with Hagrid about going so soon, he was already out of the door, ushering me to follow behind.
